I also enjoyed the way the author resolved the family dynamics, both on the hero's side and on that of the heroine's. If you're looking for a mellow romance novel with an actual plot that's not overbearing with raw smut, this is the one. Then Llewelyn, Prince of North Wales, secures an uneasy truce with England by marrying the English king's beloved, illegitimate daughter, Joanna. Betrayed by the man she loved, Lady Willa of Wakefield is left a young widow with a reputation in tatters.

But her heroes have a sweetness and smittenness under their growly ways that I find appealing, and her open-hearted heroines generally manage them just fine, so it works for me!

The tokens that Aimee gave him were adorable and Konrad asking her to wear his colors again, beating himself up over his missteps was sweet. But when she's thrown out of a young ladies' academy, Olivia doubts she'll ever find someone who will love her, rather than her bank account.
