There’s a variety of streaming services and apps, letting you explore a whole new dimension of entertainment. These services include, NOW TV, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, Rakuten, and You Tube. You also have access to Freeview Play built in. Choose from over 30,000 hours of TV and 700 boxsets for all your viewing needs. We've added a mention of the newly-reviewed LG OLED Flex in the Compared To Other TVs section of this review. We bought and tested the Samsung S95C OLED, and we've added a few relevant comparisons to the review below. The Filmmaker mode offers highly accurate images for HDR10 and HLG, while the Cinema mode does the same for Dolby Vision, and Cinema Home offers Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail. LG claims it is the only manufacturer that currently has sufficient processing power to offer this additional feature, which pulls out greater contrast and detail from Dolby Vision content. We changed the subtype from WRGB to WOLED as it's more accurate and more consistent with other TVs.

Magic Tap feature compatible with NANO75 and above, and requires NFC enabled Android phones using Android 7.0 or later. Home Wi-Fi and LG ThinQ app required.

Engineered for excellence

The LG C2 is a 4K (3,840 x 2,160) HDR smart TV that includes the company’s latest advanced OLED panel. It sits in the middle of the South Korean manufacturer’s OLED lineup and is powered by its new Alpha9 Gen5 processor with AI Picture Pro, AI Sound Pro, and Brightness Booster technology. All your content comes to life with Dolby Vision IQ. Utilising data, the TV’s sensors optimise picture quality to suit the genre you’re watching. And, Dolby Atmos simultaneously delivers multi-dimensional sound for a truly immersive experience.

Switching to Filmmaker mode still leaves the energy saving “Eco” setting at Auto. This adjusts the brightness of the image depending on the amount of ambient light, and unfortunately, turning it off isn’t intuitive. You’ll need to go to All Settings – General – OLED Care – Device Self Care – Energy Saving – Energy Saving Step, and switch this setting from Auto to Off. You’re now free to set the overall brightness of the Filmmaker mode to your personal preference. What’s more, LG OLED TVs have extremely low input lag with an incredible 1ms response time. This ensures that every move you make is displayed instantly on screen. And, with HDMI 2.1, motion blur is reduced, and ghosting is barely visible with fast transitions and seamless gameplay Complete Entertainment It’s worth noting that the two smaller screen sizes don’t get the boost in brightness seen on the 55in model and above. This is due to the density of the pixels in relation to the resolution of their panels being so high that the smaller screens can’t take advantage of LG’s Brightness Booster technology. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits)

Internet connection required. Subscriptions and data costs may apply. Content, features and third party services will vary from time to time without notice. Compatible controller required, sold separately. The LG C2 is equally as impressive when it comes to HDR, and while not as bright as the G2, it can hit 754cd/m2 on a 10% window and 174cd/m2 on a full-field pattern in the Standard mode, and 756cd/m2 on a 10% window and 164cd/m2 on a full-field pattern in the more accurate Filmmaker mode. Although a smidge brighter than last year’s C1, it’s not a huge difference. AI ThinQ feature is not available in all languages and dialects. Depending on ambient noise, voice clarity and available content or source material, voice commands may not always deliver or respond to the requested command.

We uploaded the brightness measurements and uniformity photos after running the TV for four months in our Accelerated Longevity Test. We added the SKUs for the Costco variants to the "Differences Between Variants" section. There's no difference in performance with these variants. Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output Installation into a stud is recommended. Please note that the anchors supplied may not be appropriate for all situations. Read all instructions and consult with a professional, if necessary, prior to starting installation. Percentage luminance drop at 35 degree horizontal angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white outputThe C2 range includes 42in, 48in, 55in, 65in, 77in and 83in screen sizes, making this an ideal choice for anyone looking for an OLED that can be used as a smaller gaming monitor, an all-purpose family TV or a big-screen home cinema. Voice Control features may not be available in all languages and dialects. Refer to source material. ThinQ TV control voice commands are supported. Freeview uses HbbTV technology which combines broadcast & internet streaming. Data usage charges & conditions apply. Simply put, the C2 has the lowest latency we’ve ever tested in a TV, and is comparable with some of the best gaming monitors we’ve tested. Just make sure Game Optimizer is turned on when you’re playing, because without it, the TV’s input lag is 72.8ms. We uploaded the latest brightness measurements and uniformity photos for the Accelerated Longevity Test.
