Description

When talking about Mexico, the thought of a colourful skull make-up and colourful clothes is not far away. As such, it's not uncommon to find tequila bottles placed on altars and shared among family and friends during this time. Tequila has a rich and long history deeply intertwined with modern Mexican culture as well as the ancient culture of the Aztecs. For instance, in Peru, La Diablada, the Dance of Satan (as depicted on our Reposado packaging), and only takes place in Puno.

I bought this as a very special gift for someone and I am so happy to have received this before the party to give as a gift. It is a time when families come together to remember and cherish the memories of those no longer with us. The añejo tequila of this limited edition is inspired by Calaveritas de Azucar, a colorful sweet traditionally made during Día de Muertos. That’s exactly what Sierra Tequila does with the legendary combination of Sierra Tequila Blanco, salt, and lemon or Sierra Tequila Reposado, cinnamon, and orange. and the streets are full of ‘Catrinas’ – people dressed up as skeletons, with artfully painted faces in the style of the elegant skull ‘Calavera Catrina’.Of course, there are also the skeleton-painted faces of regional parades and private family parties where indigenous spirits are used as salutations for remembering loved ones. If during the holiday you aren’t creating your own ofrenda or going to a private party, you’ll still be able to celebrate Día De Muertos all around the city. The Día de Muertos Artist Edition is encased in a colorful box, designed by Mexican artist Claudio Limón with traditional oranges and purples depicting skulls, flowers and the agave plant—all central themes to the holiday and greater Mexican culture. This Limited Edition bottling of Jose Cuervo Tradicional Plata celebrates Mexico's Day Of The Dead Festival.

So put on your dancing shoes and “Catrina” makeup, grab a bottle of Sierra Tequila and start celebrating this fascinating day. As you raise your glass to toast the memories of those who have passed, may their spirits be forever celebrated and cherished. The Tequila has aromatic notes of peach, pear, raisin, candied walnut, toasted wood and clove; as well as tasting notes of peach, walnut, clove and cacao with a finish of cacao and cinnamon.Just imagine what it feels like to stand face-to-face with a fire-breathing dragon who just ate a whisky barrel full of spicy cinnamon. These casks’ unique character results from their provenance, Bas-Armagnac, where grapes grown in siliceous-clay soil end up imparting fine and complex fruit notes to the spirit. Ultimately, We will very much want to illuminate you that we are making available for purchase this lovely and exceptionally intriguing gatherers’ version jug of Día de Los Muertos super premium Clase Azul tequila. Distilled twice, the first time in a stainless-steel alembic pot-still and a second time in a copper pot-still.

The single batch, limited edition launch was crafted from the rarest barrels and tequila aged up to 11 years for “absolute pinnacle of aged tequila,” said Richard Betts, co-founder and co-CEO of Tequila Komos. Though not explicitly released in honor of Día de los Muertos, launching the ultra-premium mezcal on the first day of the holiday adds excitement for this liquid which displays aromas of honey and apricot, a mix of cotton candy and bell pepper on the palate, and a lingering finish of baking spices. Patrón will be creating signature cocktails and partnering with some of London’s most popular bars like Swift bar, Chotto Matte, Soho Residence, Raffles, Novikov and many more. Central to Día de los Muertos is the Altars, or Ofrendas, which are created by families to honour their departed relatives. Traditional dances (complete with dangling upturned crucifixes) are rumoured to be led by the “El Diablo” himself.Crafted using traditional methods, our Tequilas are made with responsibly produced estate-owned Blue Weber Agave and water from a natural volcanic spring at our distillery in the heart of Jalisco, Mexico. Keeping and entertaining the skulls of their deceased is seen as a way for the dead to be immortalised but also protect the living by warding off evil spirits.
