Sand Is Water: There are still isolated lakes, like in Towata, but many areas of sand have sea life in them, like squid and oysters. Kaina's closing chapter is hindered by a stereotypical villain and predictable plotting, where the destination was emphasized over the journey. Centering its final stretch on Arisa's future expiration date also lets Ogaki settle on something like a heart for Crazy Food Truck's story. Their final moment together, being gunned down by the army sent after them, felt incredibly rushed, and the two of them embracing considering that they had confessed around one chapter earlier made things weirder.

She’s a super powerful weapon that wants to eat roughly every other minute and he loves to cook and they develop a strong father-daughter style bond as she leans hard into her gluttony.

It can come off more profound than Crazy Food Truck's previous attempts, though I understand why Ogaki might try to get there, given the finale nature of this volume. That's before I even get into how much I don't jibe with the idea that avoiding necessary medical treatment at the cost of your full lifespan is a mutually-exclusive choice with, y'know, living. In addition to Crazy Food Truck , he’s also the manga artist of the Akudama Drive anime’s manga adaptation. It’s not without its charms, but fantasy food is never very exciting to me, no matter how gorgeously it’s drawn.

Crazy Food Truck doesn’t reinvent anything nor does it particularly have an overwhelming originality angle, but it’s drawn well, and leaves enough crumbs to the world that I’m intrigued to see it explained more.

When he encounters Arisa, a naked girl sleeping in the middle of nowhere, he takes on the unintended traveling companion and her unexpected appetite. I was definitely eager to dig in and now I need more of this series because this one was way too fun! The cover is what got me interested and I was surprised to learn that the series is only three books long. And let's see, to "respect" her in some sense, he gives her a kind of superpower, when he remains just this crazy food truck owner. Maybe I've exaggerated a bit, it's not that eccentric, but it is definitely a really fun experience.

Since she's an Artificial Human who Escaped from the Lab, she doesn't know or care about nudity taboos (plus, wearing less clothing in the desert makes sense, at least during the day). There's a good amount of absurdity to keep you second-guessing, and asking "How will they get through this? A weird crossover between Mad Max and something you’d see on Food Network doesn’t seem like it would go well but it did. Later on we find out some details about him that explains why he is so kick-ass, but I am sure that there is plenty more hidden secrets waiting to be exposed. Ogaki could have just had the series trail off, letting the journey continue until he could pick it up again.

Christopher Farris from Anime News Network praised the action and culinary elements of the story, while criticizing the short length of the chapters, stating that it makes "characterization and content [feel] thin". Fasten your seat belts for post apocalyptic cooking and violent mayhem on this crazy food truck road trip! Idk, I've read cliché "gimmicky" manga before so I'm sure this will get 10+ volumes, maybe even 20+ with the overabundance of nudity. Sidebar - it drives me crazy that having a 17-year-old flashing her chest all over doesn’t get this an explicit content warning, while the superlative Sex Ed 120% (a series that is about 20x more wholesome and educational) does.
