About this deal

Some people might say that Anker printed the information in this way to intentionally mislead consumers. So, for the homeowner keeping a light next to his or her bed, or the cop working a long night shift, this is a significant drawback. Revomed the charger, (which BTW both the charger and the cable are by Anker) and the battery and reinserted it, connectd the charger, light shows green, heating again and torch is stuck permanently on SOS mode even with rear cap detached. Anker designed the switch to advance the mode by one position with each momentary press made within two seconds of each other.

Anker states the LC90 flashlight has a total light output of 900 lumens and a peak beam intensity of 6,500 candelas. Living in the middle of the countryside it gets very dark, so a strong torch was urgently needed and found. The new end design makes it shorter, the original LC90 had two screw on caps, the first covers the batteries and presented MicroB, the 2nd presented operation button.

To insert the battery you need to unscrew the end button cap which reveals the battery cover cap which is also where you plug in the micro USB to charge the battery. I noticed in the indoor and 10mtr garden shot a dull spot in the centre of the picture and wanted to explore this further. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Additionally, it offers 5 power levels, allowing users to adjust the brightness according to their needs. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.If I hold the Anker LC90 to the 50% standard I’ve proposed, the flashlight would have a runtime of less than 2 minutes. If you are unfamiliar with what lumens and candela measure, don’t worry: most people are confused by them and some flashlight companies have taken advantage of this over the years. The LC40 is more a day to day compact torch but enough power and battery life if you ever find yourself in trouble. I have no investment in any flashlight company and try to provide the best information possible for readers. Since the LC90 flashlight has an adjustable beam, I photographed the light at the widest beam and most zoomed in.

Now as a torch it's not the best I've owned, as when it's zoomed out it has virtually the same spotlight effect as the LC40 only brighter, but, to my disappointment, when zoomed in a bit more than half way, there's a big grey area right in the middle, which makes it unusable for walking in dark areas, as you can see around you, but not right in front of you and as far as I can observe, the lens is to fault here, due to its raised middle part shape, if it was flat, I think the beam would be much more evenly distributed. On one of my current flashlights I had replaced, the company sent me an updated version that also uses a smaller power button and often times it gets stuck or jamed…do you see that possibly happening with this?

The one thing that is weird about the LC-90 compared to the LC-40 is that you have to unscrew the cap on the back to get to the charging port. In addition to that I keep one or two large ones in the cars (can be use for more than lighting things up) and a few in the barn. In conclusion, for: very good after sales service and support (hence the increase to 3*), good overall build quality and powerful light with good distribution (when zoomed in up to about 30%-40%, so as to avoid the big grey centre spot), good battery life, good packaging. The brightest setting on my iPhone XR’s flashlight is about 1/5 (or less) then the lowest setting on the LC90.Whether it's for camping, hiking, or everyday use, this torch provides a trustworthy and powerful lighting solution. Having to remove the end cap to charge is pretty annoying for me as it means this cant be left on charge and used as a grab it and go emergency light. I used several times when walking in the dark around the property and going into one of the unlit out buildings at night.
