About this deal

Zum Umgang mit dem Messer gibt es eine tolle Zeichnung, wie man ein Messer in der Faust halten soll. I also recommend When Technology Fails by Matthew Stein and Tom Brown's Guide to Wilderness Survival by Tom Brown, Jr. As the sections suggest, the first part is all about the kit you need and how to use it, covering topics like what sort of pack to choose and how to carry it. This combined with a dearth of illustrations that would complement the instructions, this is not much of a guide or art.

It’s more of an interesting backstory rather than being directly applicable to the budding adventurer. Bushcraft 101 is exactly what it says it is starting with the basics and working through the essentials of bushcraft Dave Canterbury brings you everything you need to know in one book and a few that you probably didn't think you needed to know, well worth reading. It wasn’t a particularly long section and I didn’t mind learning a bit about the early days of bushcraft survival.Bushcraft 101: A Field Guide to the Art of Wilderness Survival when combined with the authors YouTube channel gives you all the skills you need to not only survive but thrive in the wild.

Written by survivalist expert Dave Canterbury, Bushcraft 101 gets you ready for your next backcountry trip with advice on making the most of your time outdoors. It covers all the basics from making shelter and starting a fire to catching game and finding medicinal plants. In the interest of complete honesty, this is so opposite of my normal interest I still can't believe I read it. I recommend this book to any man that thinks only they can survive the wild and that are also born in 1910. Etwas, was mir noch aufgefallen ist: Mehr als einmal liest sich das Buch, als würde Dave Canterbury Ausrüstung verkaufen wollen.I'm no expert survivalist, nor am I a novice, but the author's observations, insights, and bushcrafting methods in this book have taught me a great deal about things I hadn't realized and thought of before. As a camper, I especially liked the author's 4 w's of setting up camp: "Wood", "Water", "Wind", and "Widow-makers". Summary of my view on book's parts: 1) Chapter 1 to 10, Appendix A: In its own way, a "Good sum up".
