About this deal

Really sheer ylang-ylang dominant concoction with a short evolution waving from an initial citrusy floral sticky aroma to a woody ambery ylang-ylang/lily/jasmine accord passing through a middle phase in which the main floral note (ylang-ylang in my opinion) appears (as well as does the note of tuberose in Miller Harris Noix de Tubereuse) almost mellow, almondy and vanillic before to slightly restrain its carnal vibe. The main dominant note is Lilly-of-the-valley, and it is mellowed out with the melon, rhubarb, and spices; and all the the other notes work so well together. I'd never smelled it before but I was previously interested in it due to those saying it reminded them of Calvin Klein's Escape, which is one of my all time favorites. This feminine scent possesses a blend of fresh cut floral bouquet of lily of the valley, rose, ylang ylang, jasmine and spice. There’s a squeaky clean musk and some ylang-ylang apparent from heart to extended dry down, but they’re layered in with the other heart and base notes in a very balanced way.

Being a huge fan of Diamonds and Rubies, I expected to like this based on the listed notes and reviews, so I bought it without testing first. I smell only the lily of the valley (I don't like this note if it is too strong) and some awful mixture of fruits. I was the most anxious to try this one because of the day and night reviews it gets, and i dont have one bad thing to say about it whatsoever. I would classified it as a clean daily perfume, a bit soapy at the beginning because of the sharp smell of melon. I can see the similarities mainly due to the melon and the spice but I think Escape is much sharper which I love in a perfume.

In the ‘90s, Escape smelled fresh and beautiful, but if someone wore too much of it, the oakmoss and coriander would make you want to escape the room. I can see why others love it’s freshness but for me it’s too over powering and the other notes don’t get a time to shine on my skin.I have worn this for 5 days straight and that hasn't happened in years, I am a "change my scent when I change my undies" type girl and I have only been doing the latter all week, because I cannot get enough of this gorgeous gal. This is definitely a great sweet-tart-green-fruity balance with the rose/jasmin/ylang combo constantly dancing in the background and it manages to be fresh, sensual and interesting at the same time. I know that a little goes a long way for Liz Taylor perfumes, so I just put a few drops on my wrists. I spray my bed sheets with EDT in the morning just to enjoy the drydown in the evening and for the next few days. Pretty soon perfume was everything that Elizabeth Taylor fragrances aren’t: the olfactory illusion of sugar.

Thanks to the cool Lily of the Valley and the slight bite of Rhubarb, this really is an intriguing fragrance. The melon that people are smelling is calone, which is a molecule that was invented and emerged in perfumery in the ‘80s. When the melon steps back a surprisingly beautiful green, tart and juicy rhubarb note appears and keeps the scent interesting and slightly edible. Born in 1932 in London Dame Elizabeth Taylor is considered one of the greatest actresses of Hollywoods golden age She was the first actress ever to receive over a million dollars for her role in the iconic film Cleopatra Her perfumes are produced under the Elizabeth Arden brand and her White Diamonds scent was voted one of the top ten most successful fragrances in the last decade The Elizabeth Taylor fragrance collection also includes Diamonds and Rubies and Black Pearl. It stays on me for 6 hours, wich is so much better than ming shu from yves rocher thats stays only for 2 hours. It is a very light, barely-there fruity scent which is very wearable during daytime for pretty much any occasion. While ET was an early "celebrity" fragrance seller, I think that all the later use of celebs may have made us too dismissive of this line. Diamonds and Sapphires Elizabeth Taylor for women Top notes consist of Melon, Lily-of-the-Valley, Freesia, Peach and Galbanum. I sprayed very liberally this morning, again liberally sprayed this afternoon and either I am experiencing anosmia to it or it has very poor performance.
