About this deal

If you remember, to set up the game you must place each ice cube into a frame and create a grid for the penguin to sit on top of. It is still in production, and special editions were released in conjunction with the films Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019).The game ends when the center 2x2 square has been disconnected from the exterior of the 6x6 square; that is, when there is no orthogonal (connected along the edges) path from any cell outside the 6x6 square to a cell in the interior of the central 2x2. Whether via a game board with dice, a deck of cards, simple lines drawn on scrap paper, or electronic media, gaming is a global pastime that has enriched culture for millennia. This ensures that the final position will be of the first kind, and thus that the player going first loses. Once the ice tray is filled, players take turns striking one of the ice blocks with the plastic mallets until it is dislodged from the tray. It requires a good pincer grasp as well as bilateral coordination (using both hands in unison) to be able to properly set up the board.

Some of our vintage or prior versions of toy and game instructions may be more difficult to decipher or have less clarity. But, if you have kids and are looking for a game that is straight forward, fun, and very interactive, then Don’t Break the Ice is for you. While the first couple of games will last up to 10 minutes, games 3 and 4 usually only last about a minute as my sons hammer the ice hard and fast. This does not add any additional cost to you and helps with the expenses of keeping in Life and Littles up and running. Blocks will not fall if a continuous straight-line path can be drawn between itself and the wall, with no gaps due to missing ice blocks. Placing the first few cubes is easy enough, but as the grid begins to fill, it becomes increasingly more difficult. If there are sufficient amounts of interest, I can try and put something together to find the final value, but it'll take me a day or two; it's also eminently possible that it could be solved with a quick case analysis, since 90% of the connectivity feels like a 'red herring' and (aside from the 'interior corner' cells) the problem is almost entirely a matter of knocking out either an interior cell or both the adjacent exterior and adjacent interior-corner cells. My two oldest boys love playing this game and think it’s ridiculously entertaining to smack the bejesus out of the thing. The other day my husband was playing with our two oldest kids; it took a couple of minutes for him to set up the game when he handed our two-year-old the hammer; our two-year-old went to town and destroyed the whole game within five seconds. This game is marketed for ages 3+ but I have found that for older kids, generally 4+, this game helps build an understanding of cause and effect as well as strategy as they carefully decide which ice cubes to smash to avoid knocking the penguin in.
