About this deal

It reads almost like a series of short stories, but they are all interconnected and each one unveils details about Cardan's life and background. There are a very very few authors out there who could make a character like Cardan, who could build that amazing character arc, who could make us fall in love with the disaster that is the High King of Elfhame and Holly Black is one of them. this book only made me wish for dual pov’s in the entire series, and it honestly would’ve made the experience ten times better! From the perfect color palette, to the most perfect details, she executes the vibe of Cardan and his story in a way that I don’t think another artist could. But we see Nicasia being fostered on the land because her mother, Orlagh, Queen of the Undersea, wants to start putting pieces in motion.

There are parts from before the start of the series, a few scenes from during the series, and a story that’s set after Queen of Nothing. He forms such an imperative part in what makes Elfhame and so by being inside his mind you are also inside Elfhame and I love that. How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories is a gorgeous book, from cover to content, that makes for a comforting, cozy, magical reading experience. Each chapter is paired with lavish and luminous full-colour art, making this the perfect collector’s item to be enjoyed by audiences both new and old.Black continues to build an ever expanding mythos with her Faerie stories, and while this volume requires prior knowledge of The Folk of the Air trilogy, it offers new delights along with familiar moments retold.

holly black said i know ur all depressed and stuck at home,,, lemme just brighten up ur whole quarantine. They’re just so damn cute and good for each other, which is why Jurdan is one of my favorite enemies-to-lovers couples. Registered office address: Unit 34 Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EF. There were moments where I stopped reading just to admire the beauty of the illustrations, letting them pull me deeper like Jude being dragged to the Undersea. This book does not have the turning points, the plot twists which we are all accustomed to whilst reading about Elfhame. In this sumptuously illustrated tale, Holly Black reveals a deeper look into the dramatic life of Elfhame's enigmatic high king.

Breathtaking set pieces, fully developed supporting characters, and a beguiling, tough-as-nails heroine enhance an intricate, intelligent plot that crescendos to a jaw-dropping third-act twist. There are so many great lines, I wish I could record them all but then I’d just end up spoiling the entire book. Seeing all the background details to events that took place gives the reader such a better understanding almost like you’re in the mind of the character and nothing beats that! How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories is a novella that focuses on Elfhame's enigmatic High King, Cardan. This edgy, dark fantasy will be a hit with young adults who like their magical creatures to live in a recognizably contemporary world.

The sound that left me when I opened this book and realized we were going to get present day with Jude from Cardan’s POV… be still, my hopes and dreams and heart. I suppose I would have plummeted out of the air,” Jude tells him with troubling equanimity, her expression saying, Horrible risks are entirely normal to me . And sure, they wound up in barrels studded with nails, or dancing in iron shoes heated by fire, not just dead, but disgraced and screaming. Talvez o único problema seja que eu tive que parar e reler as cenas para me lembrar exatamente do que estava acontecendo e de como terminaram. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Additionally I also highly recommend purchasing a hardback edition of this book as it’s truly exquisite and the illustrations deserve to be seen in print. She has sold over 26 million books worldwide, her work has been translated into over 30 languages and adapted for film.
