About this deal
It was an incredibly sophisticated and mature children’s book that could be enjoyed by every reader.
The sense of place is again vividly created by the author’s vivid description and the stunningly dramatic illustrations of Tom de Freston. Leila's and Miso’s stories are intertwined - both are lost, have hope, don’t give up and find love in the end.
The recommended reading age for this is 9+ but this is such a brilliant story that adults and children will equally enjoy. Though aimed at readers 9+, adults are still able to enjoy and understand underlying issues of war, abandonment, self growth and things a parent must do for their child.
It remains one of my top books of 2022, so I knew I had to fit Leila and the Blue Fox into my reading list as well.I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books.
