If given the option, I'd choose laces because I like the look and I feel they are the most comfortable.
On the other hand, you’re not getting significant improvements in on- and off-bike traction or fit with the simple lacing systems, and both models will have fairly short lifespans due to the soft rubber compound. That said, if you own a pair of Stamp pedals or are on the lookout for a pair of Boa-equipped flat shoes, we think they’re well worth checking out. So if you’re svelte of foot, tackle a bit of hike-a-bike, and you want maximum grip, the Trailcross XT is the one. Whereas the best mountain bike clipless pedal shoes are generally stiffer and have recessed bolt holes for attaching pedal cleats.
