Description

These are excellent CDs I really enjoyed listening to them here and I would recommend them to any of my friends then. But that aside it's still a good collection of songs even if it's a little top heavy with UK entries some of them not our highest scoring entries. Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). Gina G, Verka Serduchka and Dana International bring the dance-floor classics, whilst Lordi and Måneskin brought Rock to the contest – and won!

The first disc includes the anthems 'Hallelujah' and 'Love Shine A Light' before the massively popular winner 'Fairytale' from Alexander Rybak, and dance-floor fillers from Charlotte Perrelli, Gina G, and Dana International. One of the greatest singers ever, Céline Dion won the contest back in 1988 and leads Disc 3, which also includes ‘What’s Another Year’ and ‘Hold Me Now’ from Johnny Logan, plus Nicole’s well-loved ‘A Little Peace’. Flip the album over for a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, ‘Wild Dances’ from Ruslana, Helena Paparizou and Eleni Foureira. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).LP2 opens with a run of contemporary classics starting with Duncan Laurence’s ‘Arcade’, and including Barbara Pravi’s ‘Voilà’ from 2021, Dami Im’s ‘Sound Of Silence’, The Roop, Loïc Nottet, plus two huge hits from 2022; UK runner-up ‘SPACE MAN’ from Sam Ryder, and the huge viral smash ‘SNAP’ from Rosa Linn. Over on side 2, Mans Zelmerlow with 'Heroes' opens, followed by 'Rise Like A Phoenix' from Conchita, before two huge hits from 2022; UK runner-up 'SPACE MAN' from Sam Ryder, and the huge viral smash 'SNAP' from Rosa Linn. With so many songs entered since the beginning (some highly cherished and others best left in the vaults) this won’t please everyone, but it’s a great chance to hear many of these songs again, and I hope further volumes are released or a DVD/Blu-ray collection - they should have “tooken one step further”! Over on side 2, ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ from Conchita opens, followed by Måns Zelmerlöw with ‘Heroes’ and favourites from Verka Serduchka, and Netta. Full tracklistings for all editions are below and the big 84-track versions are a veritable A to Z of Eurovision, from ‘Arcade’ (Duncan Laurence’s contest-winning Dutch entry from 2019) to ‘Zitti e buoni’ (Italian group Måneskin’s winning song for 2021).

Nice, the only thing that lets it down is the horrible cardboard sleeve which are so tight to get the cd out and edges that can scratch the disc. A 5-LP box set presented in a rigid slip case, with the 5 individual LP’s, including track by track annotations on the reverse of each cover that include facts about the song, artist, and result at the contest. This is not a bad collection of Eurovision songs at all, although squarely aimed at the UK market - as well as the usual winners, there's a healthy tranche of UK entries in these three discs, from Michael Ball's pure pop 1992 entry "One Step Out Of Time" to largely forgotten recent classics like James Fox' "Hold On To Our Love" and Jessica Garlick's "Come Back" (the UK's highest placed entry in 20 years, of course, until Sam Ryder scored his sensational second place in 2022). Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Flip the LP over for the final side which is all about celebrating the earlier years of the contest… the classic ‘Congratulations’ by Cliff Richard is leading the track-list. Feel good songs, smoochy ballads and great memories of what Eurovision was like and is still evolving to be. L'Oiseau Et L'Enfant' from Marie Myriam leads into timeless ballads from Anne-Marie David with 'Wonderful Dream', and Gigliola Cinquetti with 'Go (Before You Break My Heart)', before closing with the timeless 'All Kinds Of Everything' from Dana.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. The earlier years of the contest are celebrated on LP5 – with the classic ‘Congratulations’ by Cliff Richard leading the track list. LP2 presents a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with 'Euphoria', 'Popular' from Eric Saade, 'Wild Dances' from Ruslana, Helena Paparizou, Verka Serduchka and Netta, before heading back to well-loved '80s winners from Nicole with 'A Little Peace', Johnny Logan's 'What's Another Year', and one of the greatest singers ever, Celine Dion with the 1988 victor 'Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi'. However there is one glaring omission Celine Dion "Ne partez pas sans moi" 1988 winner for Switzerland, why?

Note: it comes in a cardboard gatefold sleeve rather than a jewel case - not my favourite format to be honest, but it's nice and compact for the shelf! Flip the LP over for the final side which is all about celebrating the earlier years of the contest.
