This book is great we laughed out loud and refer to it often (particularly when we go to the park (‘check you’ve not left your bottom over there. Some of the illustrations are on graph paper and the endpapers feature the books characters incorporated into circuit diagrams. I was going to give this four stars but can't really see why it shouldn't be five stars as the service itself was outstanding too.

Bernard and his friends are colourful and appealing characters and Sue Hendra makes clever use of robot associated design elements. They wrote such epic sagas as; ‘Barry the fish with fingers’,’Norman the slug with the silly shell’,’No-bot the robot’,’Supertato’ and ‘I need a wee’. Before you start feeling too sad let me reassure you, he does find his bottom in the end, so all is well. Some nice people had the great idea to make the book 'Wanda and the Alien' by Sue into a world wide TV series. Apart from the boldly illustrated zany story which young children will doubtless love, this book offers a host of possibilities for creative thinking.

The book is beautifully illustrated and the story is guaranteed to have you and your child laughing… I can't recommend any of the Sue Hendra books highly enough, seriously if you've never read any of her books then you MUST! Paul Linnet was born in Brighton and grew up in the Midlands, reading Tintin and playing classic 80s video games, before becoming obsessed with scribbling, writing, guitars and motorcycles. No-Bot goes to the park and goes on the swing, but when he walks a little to go home he finds out he lost his bottom. For a time, it’s utilised by his friends bird and bear as a nest (too heavy) and as drums (too tinny). I bought it for my daughter and granddaughter and thought they could take everyday objects and brainstorm/turn them into other things e.

When she met Paul Linnet she found another twit with a silly sense of humour so they fell in love and started writing and illustrating together. You could make your robot moveable by attaching the limbs, hands and feet using split pins, making sure you have space to attach its bottom later. Many children’s books have a moral in the telling, or a serious message - this one is simply good fun. This is a fun story to share with toddlers and those slightly older too, and it bears up well to repeated reading. The eye of man hath not heard, the ear of man hath not seen, man’s hand is not able to taste, his tongue to conceive, nor his heart to report what my dream was. I can’t recommend any of the Sue Hendra books highly enough, seriously if you’ve never read any of her books then you MUST! Download the progression document which includes statements from Development Matters (birth to age five) and the relevant ELGs in full for the find No-bot’s bottom adult led activity here. Parents in Touch ‘Fans of Barry, Norman and Keith will absolutely adore this new wonderfully eccentric new character. Show the children the magnet engineer poster and tell the children that they are going to be magnet engineers for this activity.
