The journalist gets a taste of what life would be like if he ever mentioned the name Alex Rider again. But here I am, writing a book in which I have no idea what's going on, following in the footsteps of a character who refuses to tell me anything. My only complains are after a while the villains are pretty cookie cutter and again the plot fluctuates between believable and fantasy. So far, what I have pictured is this: a horizontal metal pipe with handles built in like a periscope. What I mean by this is the 'Im going to tell you all my plans and let my minons kill you instead of killing you myself.In fact I wrote my first book when I was ten, stuck in a miserable, north London boarding school where reading and telling stories were my only lifeline. Alex has his friend, Tom Harris, cover for him as he breaks away from the group to infiltrate Straik's office, using a locator map disguised as a postcard. Often imitated, never equaled, the series that triggered a reading phenomenon is back, exhilarating and addictive as ever. When his uncle is murdered in the first novel, Alex is recruited by the agency for both his talents and his age—because who would suspect a 14-year-old of being a spy? Among the charities to respond to the disaster is First Aid, a British charity known for its unfailing generosity and being there as soon as possible.

I love when Smithers takes the stage, because it's quite a lot like dealing with Q in the lab in one of the James Bond films. These story's are gripping moving and sometimes disturbing but that's what makes them so hard to put down. At least, that's my version of events and that's what counts here because, very unusually, I actually appear in the book as his not entirely successful sidekick; the Watson to his Holmes. Alex ends up winning the game, and twenty-five thousand pounds, but decides to donate all the money he wins to First Aid (which McCain's charity). There needs to be a fresher plot, a more interesting villain, or some character development for Alex.

First off, we're introduced to Ravi Chandra, who plants a bomb in a nuclear power station and doesn't live very long. After another hard mission that he wasn't supposed to be on at all i really hope that Alex can get away from the spy life and lead a normal one.

I'm not a spy, but Anthony Horowitz made me feel like I was in Africa fighting along side Alex as he struggled to save the world yet again. It's a page-turner that will have you on the edge of you seat reading in the middle of the night until Alex gets himself out of the very last impossible situation.
