About this deal

Set and manage accurate food portions: Set the portion size and type of food to be served for up to two types of food (e.g., wet and dry). Once portion sizes have been set up in the app, the product’s integrated scales weigh food as it is added to the bowl. There are a few problems with the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect. The first and most important is that sensitive cats and dogs will struggle with the sudden movement of the lid. Although this feeder is excellent for most cats and small dogs around 10 to 15 pounds, it can't be used with larger pets. Almost 60 percent i of US cats share their home with another feline friend, while many of them also cohabit with a dog. The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect is ideal for multi-pet households, as the product uses a pet’s identification microchip, or Sure Petcare collar tag, as a unique “key,” allowing only authorized pets to access the food in the bowl. Preventing food stealing by other pets in this way not only leads to more harmonious mealtimes, but also makes the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect a must-have for the many households where pets are on either prescription diets or weight management programs. What really make this feeder stand out is the curved rectangular opening positioned in front of the bowl. This is the important bit, as it has four scanners embedded within. When it detects a registered pet’s microchip, the doors will slide open. If your name’s not down, you’re not coming in.

Used with the Sure Petcare app, you can also view reports of your cat’s drinking behaviours, noticing changes that might require further investigation. What’s more, you can use your existing Sure Petcare hub if you have a SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap Connect, Microchip Pet Door Connect or SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect. This will give you a complete picture of your cat’s wellbeing with valuable data that is unique to them, noticing changes far earlier than before.

The training is set up in four stages to get your pets used to the sudden motion and (reasonably quiet) noise of the motor, starting with the lid almost completely open and ending with it completely closed. There maybe those of you who regard the SureFeed feeder as overkill, but it’s good if you have your pet on a calorie-controlled diet, or want to show your vet how your pets have been eating recently, given that meal-time enthusiasm is a good proxy for general health. You can see the times of day that they tend to graze: Those who have multiple pets also receive advice on how to train them. It goes into further detail about training cautious pets with the feeder. Surefeed Remove Pet Only permits access to a registered pet’s microchip or RFID collar tag to prevent other pets from stealing food. Make sure she’s getting the right amount of food and see changes in her feeding behaviour. The integrated scales enable you to precisely measure out up to two different types of food, so you can set the food type and quantity of your pet’s meals. With a bowl capacity of 1.6 cups (400 ml) for both wet and dry food, it’s ideal for pets on weight management diets. The Sure PetFeeder is for multi-pet homes to stop pets stealing each other’s food. Compatible with all ID microchips worldwide and SureFlap RFID collar tags, it remembers all registered pets even when the batteries are removed.

Once all is running, the Microchip Pet Feeder is brilliant. You set the weight of food you need for each bowl in the app, and the lights beneath each one will fill up as you top it up with food, turning red if you go over the limit. As the scales get lighter, the feeder can determine how much food your pet has eaten and will update you with notifications as seen below: There's also acclimatization to think of. The lid certainly seems strong enough to keep persistent (smaller) dogs out when it's not time to eat, and we would imagine the promise of food would mean they wouldn't be too troubled by the slight sound and action of the lid opening and closing. The three cats we tested on varied in their responses. Unfortunately the wimpiest of the three – realistically, the one whose food issues would be most readily fixed by the Microchip Pet Feeder Connect – really didn't like it. That is in no way a fault of the Microchip Pet Feeder Connect, of course. This is a solid and well-engineered piece of hardware; cats, in general, do not match that description. They also ask for other information about you like how likely you are to recommend the company to other people and information about your pet.

Connect with family and friends: Share access to the app with friends and family, which is ideal for pet sitters and day-to-day care.
