Description

As you’re probably aware, Orange manufactures an another version of the amp mentioned in today’s article – it’s the 20RT model. In short, it’s basically a little bit smaller and less powerful version of that combo.

One reviewer commented on the Aux in, stating that it was quite bassy. Someone also mentioned that the dirty channel can sound a bit fuzzy. A few users haven’t been pleased with the overall sound but these are few and far between. Obviously the 35RT isn’t going to compete with the high end tube amps out there, but it isn’t really trying to capture that market. Bear in mind that most owners of this amplifier have been blown away by the quality of sound produced. To top it all off, the Crush 35RT is complete with a fully buffered, ultra transparent effects loop to truly get the most from your pedal setup. With features like these and more than enough bite and attitude for the rehearsal space, this combo goes way beyond the call of a traditional practice amplifier.

So I started looking around a few weeks ago to see what was currently available. Much to my dismay there are not a lot if any options available in the way of stripped down transistor amps. Everything seems to be some sort of digital modeling type; I was really beginning to miss my Pathfinder. The only thing I had to complain about was that there was no master volume, but I solved this problem by buying a cheap Behringer volume pedal and plugging it in last in my FX loop. Now I can find my the perfect tone and turn it up in down without loosing any of the tone. Great article. I’ve recently gone through the process of finding an amp test suits my current needs. The neat little top panel makes it easy to dial in the sound you want without needing to continually refer to the instruction manual. Built in reverb and a chromatic tuner add to the overall flexibility of the 35RT (RT stands for Reverb and Tuner by the way). Specification & Dimensions The 35 RT takes pedals well and sounds good at any volume, it has more gain on tap than I would ever use and I love the digital reverb. We play a lot of festivals on portable stages, and while it's no spring reverb I don't get the spring rattles and crashes if someone jumps around a bit during the show.

Nevertheless, I’m still positive that the advantages of that combo outweigh its disadvantages. Considering the fact that this is a really affordable amp, it’s definitely worth the money. That’s for sure! Orange Crush 35RT vs 20RT This year I started jamming with a band again and discovered no matter what I hooked up for cabinets and no matter what tubes I put in, I didn’t have the clean headroom I wanted at jam levels. (The crunch was amazing though). For a secondary, practice setup in my home office. I was duped by the positive grid marketing a couple of years ago, which I got for when I dont have access to my better stuff at home—and wanted an actual amp to replace that muffled, app-dependent, DSP trash. At this point, a british style gain along with some cleans is what I do, so decided to try solid state (analog) expecting I could get god gain at lower volumes along with lots of clean headroom also. Effects Loop - With no built in digital effects this buffered loop is great for hooking up numerous external pedals either on stage or off. AdvantagesMake use of any number of effects without sacrificing tone with the Crush 35RT's fully buffered, low impedance Effects Loop. For those purists who like their guitar's tone to be as clean as possible, even with the use of effects, you can't go wrong with a good effects loop option, and there are arguably none better than those you get with Orange amps. With that said, I swapped the speaker out with a Celestion Alnico Gold and other than the Gold not being as harsh (not that the Orange speaker is harsh compared to other ceramic magnet guitar speakers) and having a bigger bottom end, there wasn't that much of a difference in the overall character of the speaker. At this price point, that's pretty darn impressive if you ask me. No, the Crush 35RT combo is a solid-state amp. It doesn’t have any tubes. Where can I find the manual to Orange Crush 35RT?
