Honestly, Corsairs are still paying for their previous sins from the Doom of Mymerea book, and their role as cheap filler in Ynnari armies. You might fight your way to the mid-tables with this list (and annoy all the TO’s as you try to wedge your terrain onto a table). but this army remains a meme. Like the Ynnari, the Corsairs remain a half-army that GW doesn’t know quite what to do with. Their aesthetic and place in the lore is great but (beyond a brief time in the sun in 7th ed) this has never translated to great rules. I think GW (or God forbid, FLG) should give Wave Serpents, Falcons and Venoms the “Anhrathe” keyword. This army isn’t going to dominate the meta and this change would not impact other armies in any way. I would like to see more HQ options too, but forcing you to take Yriel might also limit their ability to unintentionally dominate the meta too. Expert Marksman: You do not need to subtract any action points for this operative to perform the Take Aim action.

Balestrike Band • Lynx • Warp Hunter Squadron • Night Spinner • Fire Storm • Fire Prism • Vampire Raider If you’ve ever looked at the Kabalite gunners, you’ll recognize the Corsair gunner – it’s basically the same datasheet here only with a shuriken pistol instead of blades. On the newer side is the Heavy Gunner, whose options offer a choice between a Shuriken cannon and a Wraithcannon. The Shuriken Cannon profile has changed here; it’s now 4/5 damage with Fusillade, Heavy, Unwieldy, and !Rending (Unwieldy replaces Lethal 5+ and Rending has been added on crits). Meanwhile the Wraithcannon is all-new, offering basically a heavy, unwieldy, unlimited-range meltagun. It’s a pretty spicy option for melting targets from across the table. The Unique Operatives Like all Voidscarred operatives, the Felarch has an Action Point Limit of 2, a move of 3 Circle/3×2 inches and a 4+ Save. This generally means that he’s not a tank you can just drop into a prolonged melee with a Space Marine. Before the game, I got talking with a fellow Corsair entrant (who also entered the GD with an insanely cool 6mm scale Aeldari titan diorama) about Elf Bullshit. Rather than use the Duellist operative as a counterpunch unit as I do, he likes applying the two possible pre-game dashes from Infiltrate and One Step Ahead to it. A further dash-move gets the Duellist right into the opposing deployment zone in the first turning point, ready to cause Shenanigans. There are many bands of so-called Corsairs scattered across the galaxy, and all are savage and deadly raiders. Outcasts from the strict confines of the Craftworlds, the Corsairs live in self-imposed exile, seeking to explore the galaxy and experience the full gamut of emotion and sensation accessible to the Eldar’s sensitive psyche. Most are young and adventurous Eldar who will eventually return to their homes older, wiser and tempered by warfare. Some, however, embrace the raider’s life completely and fall further still, becoming ever more bloodthirsty and psychotic, indulging their darkest impulses and eventually seeking out the infamous Dark City. [Needs Citation]Voidreavers: In many ways the new unit is an upgrade over the old corsair reaver bands. While you lose the “annihilate everything” brace of pistols for your units and the long range punch of the missile launcher the wraithcannon gives you a significant threat, and their special rules are much better. I prefer the shuriken rifles to the old shredder carbines and they mesh well with the corsair ability to get auto-wounds.

Mission actions are specific to the mission you are playing, and will be detailed by that mission’s briefing. Missions can be found here (Open Play mission) and here (Spec Ops Narrative missions).

My Team

and that’s all there is to it! The Kurnathi is simple, but still a good combat operative. If you would like to field it as well as the Fate Dealer, which are made from the same model, you can easily fit its Dual Power Weapons or the Fate Dealer’s Ranger Long Rifle onto another body in the kit, so you can have both. Voidscarred Fate Dealer (1 per kill team) Not only is Soul Heal great for keeping your Corsairs in the fight for longer, it’s perfect for restoring an injured fighter to full capacity. If an operative has fewer than half of their wounds remaining, they suffer penalties to their Movement, Ballistic Skill and Weapon Skill characteristics – pump a Voidscarred Warrior full of healthy soul energy, and watch them regain their vim and vigour. Earlier this year the enigmatic Aeldari Corsairs arrived in the 41st Millennium * in the Kill Team: Nachmund boxed set. It wasn’t long before the updated Codex: Aeldari brought these debonair privateers to the battlefields of Warhammer 40,000. Even low-ranking Corsairs display ostentatious wealth. These Voidreavers won’t leave home without their elegant power swords, a crucial counter to well-armoured infantry – and not bad for a Troops choice! These options aren’t nearly as exciting as what many other kill teams get for their gunners, but the fact that both weapon options are in addition to the good Shuriken Pistol does make the Voidscarred Gunners more versatile than many other Gunner operatives. You can’t, however, field a Gunner in the same kill team as a Heavy Gunner in the Corsair Voidscarred kill team, and since the Heavy Gunner’s weapon options are much more interesting, there’s no reason to make room for a Gunner in this kill team. Voidscarred Heavy Gunner (1 per kill team, can’t be in the same team as a Gunner)

Sensing an approaching crux of destiny, the psyker summons the certainty and confidence of ancient days. Doubt and fear are washed from their mind, and those nearby gain grim resolve from the psyker's indomitable aura. The Voidscarred Warrior is the standard operative of the Corsair Voidscarred kill team, but unlike many other standard operatives in other kill teams, the Voidscarred Warrior makes up for its low Wounds characteristic with some pretty cool weapons. Owing allegiance to nobody but themselves, these corsairs travel the galaxy, diving into whichever fights stand to benefit them most. What’s their angle in Kill Team: Nachmund? You’ll just have to wait and see.Last week was huge for Aeldari reveals – including the giant new Avatar – but none was as unexpected as the arrival of Corsairs in War Zone Nachmund. While they’ve been a part of Warhammer 40,000 since the very beginning, they’ve not often been major players. That’s all changing with the upcoming Kill Team: Nachmund boxed set, which brings the first-ever plastic Corsairs. Corsair Voidscarred : Corsair Voidscarred w/ Ranger Long Rifle , Corsair Voidscarred w/ Shuriken Cannon , 7x Corsair Voidscarred w/ Shuriken Rifle , Plasma Grenades, Soul Weaver A Voidscarred Kill Team consists of 9 Operatives: 1 Voidscarred Felarch, who acts as the team leader, and 8 additional operatives chosen from a list. Voidscarred Warriors are the teams rank-and-file, and you can have as many of those as you like, while you get up to one Voidscarred Gunner carrying a blaster or shredder, or one Heavy Gunner with a shuriken cannon or wraith cannon. You can’t take two gunners on the same team. The Generic Operatives Corsairs known as Voidscarred are amongst the most hardened of their king who have spent many centuries plying the stars. These individuals naturally find one another, for few others can relate to the wide variety of experiences they have had. All are possessed of strong personality and immense martial prowess, with unique combat preferences and fighting styles which include lethal snipers, heavy weapons specialists, master bladesmen, and potent Psykers. All have tested their abilities against a wide variety of foes such as the Orks, Humans, Gnostari, Forces of Chaos, Tyranids, and even other Eldar. Many have earned a degree of infamy amongst their own kind for their ruthless deeds or for the extent their souls have been hardened by a lifetime of space travel. [3a] This month’s White Dwarf joins in with the Kill Team fun with a set of rules for fielding Harlequins in the skirmish combat game. There are also 18 Kill Team Tac Ops cards, a Total War: Warhammer III poster, new Warhammer Age of Sigmar rules for the Blades of Khorne , and much more!
