After the Show, and when my mother turned up at the house to collect me some time later, my Granny (quite distressed) was full of: 'you should have been here (to my mother) it's been terrible! More recently, AllMusic gave the album a favourable review, complimenting the three singles most highly but said that Bush would improve on the formula on later albums. Two years after her first two releases, Kate Bush took her career into her own hands and produced Never For Ever.

My Granny was rather deaf, and so the only lyric she was able to pick up on was Kate singing the 'Out' from the lyrics: 'In - Out', but being deaf, inevitably sounded very much like a pointless 'Ouch' or needless shrieking/squealing to my Grandmother. Babooshka"'s motherly charm and flexible chorus make it one of her best tracks, proving that she can make the simplest of lyrics work for her through her tailored vocal acrobatics. A section of the original cover art was enlarged, creating two different booklet covers: the outer one modified; and underneath the original. Breathing," about the repercussions of nuclear war, conveys enough passion and vocal curvatures to make her concern sound convincing, while "Army Dreamers" bounces her voice up and down without getting out of hand. It was also the first album by a female British solo artist to top the UK Albums Chart and the first album by any female solo artist to enter the chart at number one.Bush created a marriage of groundbreaking, up-to-the-minute technology with little-used acoustic instruments. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Bush’s 1980 release Never For Ever was also her third studio album and, remarkably, her first number one in the UK. Es sind nicht nur die unvergesslichen Geschichten wie "Babooshka" oder "The Wedding List", die begeistern.

During October she also undertook promotional appearances for the album throughout Europe, most prominently in Germany and France. Bush was keen to start producing her work and felt that this was the first album she was happy with, since it was more personal. Delius (song of the summer)- here we have a quirky and unusual song which is pure and exceptional as it links directly from the concluding 'shatter glass' verse of Babooshka and then it turns into summery sounds and backing vocals which makes this a very memorable song indeed. The rest of the album isn't quite as firm as her singles, but they all sport a more appeasing and accustomed sound than some of her past works, and she does manage to keep her identity and characteristics intact. She was very old (being born in Victorian Times) and knew little of Pop Music, but she was startlingly aware of a 'Ms. Her gothic and even extreme inspirations are intrinsic to her artistry, proving once again that Bush was the true torchbearer of art-rock and experimentalism, using the macabre to go against what was expected of women artists of the era.

What he created firmly resonated with Bush’s inner world, echoing the artistic influences she held dear. The range of styles on Never for Ever is much more diverse, veering from the straightforward rocker "Violin" to the wistful waltz of hit single " Army Dreamers". This remaster is surprisingly warm sounding for a cd, and gives a little extra punch/oomph where needed, without spoiling the original sound balance. The initial two albums had established a distinctive sound that permeated every track, characterised by opulent orchestral arrangements complementing the live band’s presence. It features the UK Top 20 singles " Breathing", " Army Dreamers" and " Babooshka", the latter being one of Bush's biggest hits. Gaffaweb - Kate Bush - REACHING OUT - Never For Ever Debut with Peter Powell - Radio 1 - Oct 11, 1980". Whilst still not quite capturing the 'magic' of her debut 'The Kick Inside', this Album was definitely better and more interesting than the previous release: 'Lionheart'. The infant Kiss-now for a change of pace from the previous songs, Kate goes more mellow with the ballad of the album, but unlike most ballads this is told with Kate's unique style and kitsch attitude with sound effects while the message still hits as deep as it should with pure emotional resonance, as pure as Kate can be. However, as someone has already commented, the older albums do seem to benefit from being remastering better, including this one.

The Infant Kiss", the story of a governess who is frightened by the adult feelings she has for her young male charge (who is possessed by the spirit of a grown man), was inspired by the 1961 film The Innocents, which in turn had been inspired by The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.Over the following week, Bush undertook a record signing tour of the UK including London, which resulted in lengthy queues down Oxford Street. As Bush gained a cult following over the coming years, however, Never for Ever was belatedly released in 1984 following the entry into the charts of her fourth album, The Dreaming. not quite sure what people's dislike is with this pressing, mine sounds phenomenal and I got it used while in France.
