About this deal

This BL1850B 5.0Ah battery is compatible with all Makita 18v Li-ion tools that have a star symbol on the connector plate, or a yellow connector plate with a star on, or have a yellow connector plate only.

With NiCd and NiMH batteries, the power starts fading away the minute you start using it. That doesn’t sound particularly bad, but in reality you’re almost never getting peak performance. With Li-ion batteries, though the eventual drop-off is more dramatic, they deliver consistent power for longer. Equipped with Star Protection Computer Controls™ to protect against overloading, over-discharging and over-heating The Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion battery charges faster and works longer than standard lithium-ion batteries, giving you and your cordless tools unmatched performance and productivity to take on the most demanding applications. The Makita 5.0Ah battery has a category-leading charge time of only 45 minutes, so it spends more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

OPTIMUM CHARGING

Compatible only with Star Protection tools, indicated by the Star Symbol™ and/or Yellow Battery Receiver under the tool Compact and lightweight battery charger designed to charge slide type lithium-ion batteries BL1011B, BL1021B and BL1016B. The new Makita 1.5Ah battery with a 22 minute fast charge time with a DC10SB charger or 50 minute standard charge time with a DC10WD charger In practical terms, a 3.0 Ah battery delivers the same performance as a 2.0 Ah battery in terms of outright power — voltage output — but it will continue to deliver that power for longer. It’s like having three gallons of gas in the tank instead of two. Having tried quite a few different copy makes of the Makita battery . I have come to the conclusion the Makita battery are much better performance wise.

This 6.0Ah battery will set new standards in run time, particularly when used on efficient brushless motor tools or in tandem on select Makita 'X2' - Twin 18v tools. Makita 18V X2 LXT (36V) cordless tools are powered by two 18V batteries, and are engineered to deliver corded power and run time for select highest-demand tools like saws, blowers and trimmers – but without leaving the 18V battery platform or investing in heavier, high-voltage batteries. MAKITA 6AH BATTERY FEATURESRecharge time for the BL1850B 5.0Ah battery is just 45 minutes when using a Makita DC18RC or DC18RA fast charger. This compares with 22 minutes for the popular 3.0Ah 18v Makita Li-ion battery or 36 minutes for the 4.0Ah Li-ion battery. The battery capacity indicator LED's which show you how much power you have left at the touch of a button. The new battery is engineered to give more run time (twice the run time of the Makita 3.0Ah LXT battery), but with the same weight and dimensions as the lower-capacity 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah, and 5.0Ah LXT batteries. It reaches a full charge in only 55 minutes (with DC18RC / DC18RD fast chargers), the fastest charge time in its category. Includes a battery capacity indicator LED so you know how much charge is left. The new Makita 4.0Ah battery with a 60 minute fast charge time with a DC10SB charger or 130 minute standard charge time with a DC10WD charger. Always use the correct combination of battery and charger. Never try to mix them, even if the battery fits physically. You’ll either undercharge, which is pointless, or overcharge, which reduces battery life and can be dangerous. FAQ Q. Is it better to always use Makita-brand batteries? I’ve heard copies can be dangerous. The yellow connector batteries were first introduced in 2004 and were the first 18V batteries available from Makita. They were based on NiCd technology, which is less efficient and less powerful than the Li-ion technology used in the LXT batteries. They were also larger and heavier than LXT ones.
