Amazing Me, Amazing You by Christine McGuinness, illustrated by Hannah Jayne Lewin, is out now (Scholastic). Model and author Christine McGuinness, who was diagnosed with autism in 2021 aged 33, has released her first children's book. Titled Amazing Me, Amazing You, she hopes it will be the perfect way for parents or carers to introduce the subject of neurodiversity to any child. Christine believes that there are many people who are autistic and who aren't diagnosed. She hopes her book will continue the conversation about neurodiversity and help people with autism thrive. Christine, 34, was on the show to talk about her new children's book, Amazing Me, Amazing You, as well as her upcoming BBC documentary, titled Christine McGuinness: Unmasking My Autism, will see Christine reveal how autism in women and girls has been ignored and misunderstood by science and society, leaving thousands of women are living undiagnosed.

Prior to her diagnosis, she often failed to understand how other people made normal conversations appear so simple. She popped into The Graham Norton Radio Show With Waitrose this weekend to tell us more about the book. And we have to say, she was an absolute delight. The former Real Housewives Cheshire star is the proud mum of twins Penelope and Leo, nine, and youngest daughter Felicity, six, who she shares with ex husband Paddy McGuinnes and who all have autism. In her first big solo project since announcing her split from her Top Gear host husband Paddy McGuinness, Christine will front her own BBC One film, Christine McGuinness: Unmasking My Autism, which will see her reveal how autism in women and girls has been ignored and misunderstood by science and society, leaving thousands of women undiagnosed. The film follows the BBC One documentary Paddy and Christine McGuinness: Our Family and Autism, screened in November 2021, in which they met other parents, experts and people on the autism spectrum. The programme also followed Christine's diagnosis. The mum of three also wants to raise awareness on the difficulties autistic people face. She said: "I wanted to do something that would help other children understand children like mine." She added: "It's a real child friendly way for children to learn about autistic children." She's got a book to represent herself and she's going to go in as happy, as comfortable, as calm and I know for that mum, this will be huge. That will make that mum's day better and more importantly, that little girl is going to go in happy and that's just gorgeous. I'm very, very proud - and totes emosh!"
