About this deal

Only problem? Having to wait until the next book in the series gets released. While I try not to lose my morality patiently, veryyy patiently sit and wait.

Cullen worked as a nurse in many hospitals but kept switching jobs as he was fired for suspicious behaviour from many of them. He confessed to murdering 40 elderly patients in New Jersey from 1984 to 2003. He did this by poisoning his patients to death with unprescribed medication. He stated that he wanted to relieve the patients from their suffering much like an angel would." Grayson doesn’t just kill random people. He kills with a purpose. The “victims” are horrible people themselves- from murderers, to rapists, to ped@philes- they don’t deserve to live. Yet he finds justice and mercy in his actions- because all of his “victims” have choices- that’s how he offers clemency. This book had me hooked the moment I read the premise, because isn’t there something so diabolically erotic about a criminal psychologist falling in love with a convicted murderer? An unhinged mind doesn’t think linearly. He’s moving through the stages by his own design. He’ll be feasting soon.” I really did enjoy this book, it was one I found myself racing towards the end to find out what happens but at the same time not really wanting it to end.

The book spent most of the prose in trying to convince me that he was truly evil, when there were no true actions to show it. Just words. You're mine, London. We can dance this violent dance until we bleed each other dry, or we can surrender. You're choice. But I will have you." A flash of anger stains his face, then he takes measured steps to his table. “I’m done, Your Honor. No more questions.” In his therapy sessions with London we catch glimpses of his ingenuity and sometimes beneath his cold, hard veneer you could peek just a hint of vulnerability. These sessions promptly turn into a game for Grayson where instead of being analyzed by London he starts dissecting her. Learning her quirks, her fears, her secrets. Also, the ending of the book felt very abrupt, and I hadn't even realized I had finished it when I did (I read it on my kindle). I believe there will be another book that will most likely expand on the characters (I mean they barely got anywhere with the case they were trying to solve), but I think I will pass on it.

Trisha Wolfe wrote this with such meticulous detail and it showed. I had so much fun while reading because everything about this book was so well thought out. The psychological aspect was phenomenal and I loved that about it. I love that I’ve found a new fav author! Your wife—” I nod to his hand that displays a gold wedding band “—are you fearful for your life when she discovers your affair with your paralegal?” I glance at the blonde seated at the prosecution’s table. “Because, according to your provoking argument of Mr. Reker, you should be downright terrified.” Book Genre: Abuse, Adult, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance, Crime, Dark, Mystery, Romance, Sociology, Suspense, Thriller The chemistry between the main characters started out as a tangible connection, most from his side, until it became forced as if the author was trying hard to make her characters feel the attraction. Being drawn to danger was a concept I was well versed in, but this didn't feel attraction or compulsion. That existed only in the author's mind, not in the written words. A pity.

After examining the defendant, Charles Reker, I believe he displays classic signs of paranoid schizophrenia. In particular, he suffers from a specific delusion: Capgras delusion. Charles Reker, amid this delusion, believed his wife to be a clone—” If you are looking for a tense, gripping edge of the seat, twisted kind of read this is definitely for you! Ours is not a love story—we’re too volatile, too explosive for monotony. No, our story comes with a warning. Read this line out loud - His gravity encapsulates every molecule, dominating the elements with his commanding presence - What did this even mean? Fear not, there were many such lines that gave zero imagery or added anything to the story. As said, I really enjoyed the psychological aspects of this story as well as the ways details of both main characters' pasts were peeled away layer by layer as the story progressed. There was also a lot of quality sexual tension and pull between the two main characters.
