About this deal

Having used the Bunty ourselves we found that the spinning mechanism seems to demand a lot more battery power than is required for gravity feeders. Consequently, we found that the batteries required changing after a combined 20 days or so of use. The Pawbo Crunch is a great option if you want to monitor and carefully control your cat’s diet, on the app you can view a diet report containing feeding and nutrition data statistics. So another example based on my timing above: if you enter all the times mentioned above and then first feed your pet at 10am, the next time it will rotate is NOT 6:30am but 4pm because that's the next time that will occur during the day because that's just how time works. They're like alarms you set on your phone. Buying your first cat feeder can be exciting, particularly when you think of those undisturbed morning lie-ins you will now be getting because your cat won’t be pawing amd meowing at you at 6am for food…however all those dreams can be dashed to pieces if your cat doesn’t take well to the new gadget. The PetKit’s feeder rotates on a 60 degree radius as it dispenses food, this helps to both mix and evenly share out food portions.

This certainly won't suit every animal. We doubt most dogs would get on well with it; the dogs in our life would do their best to get through its entire contents in one session and feel sorry for themselves afterwards. We'd probably avoid it for rabbits, too, as 'unlimited food' doesn't really match the proportion of pellets they're supposed to have in their diet. Take-it-or-leave-it cats, though? Go right ahead. They'll love it, and you'll love not having to fill their bowls as often. The C500 measures 35 cm wide x 29 cm long x 7 cm tall. Each food segment can store 330 grams of food (this is usually enough for two cats), meaning that the C500 can store a total of 1.6kg of food, which is a good amount! To work out the exact capacity you will need, weigh a normal meal for your cat on kitchen scales, multiply this weight by the number of meals your cat has each day. You will have the total weight of food required for a single day, so you can then multiply this number by the number of days you are expecting to ever be away to reach the maximum capacity you will require. Does your cat eat wet food? By using the battery-powered timer and LCD display, you can set the timer to provide your pet with 5 meals at any time, so it is possible to feed your pet 5 small meals a day, or 1 meal per day for the next 5 days. You need to consider how easy it is to clean the feeder part before you choose any automatic cat feeder. The cat feeding bowl can be a breeding place for bacteria, and it demands that you wash it regularly. You need to look for an automatic cat feeder that has dishwasher-safe parts for easy cleaning. What to Look For in anAutomated Cat Feeder To set the timer, simply turn the dial to the number of hours delay you require, and then start the timer with the small switch on the bottom of the unit.

Since an automatic feeder opens and closes on its own, it’s incredibly important that it detects your cat so that injury is avoided entirely. Many feeders have sensors that won’t allow the tray to open or close while your cat’s paws or tail are in the tray.

The Pawbo Crunchy has a large 6L food storage capacity and all the parts are detachable to ensure it is easy to keep clean. To program the 1st meal you need to press UP or DOWN arrow buttons to move the highlight to Meal 1. These feeders are both designed to be used with dry foods, with a maximum size of 16mm. The C3000 automatic cat feeder is designed to dispense the smaller size of dry food that cats eat, while the D3000 timed dog feeder is designed for larger dog-size kibble. It is recommended that the Dog Mate D3000 is NOT used with small, free-flowing food (smaller than pea size). The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder from SureFlap is slightly different to the other feeders reviewed here, as it doesn’t have a timer. Instead, it can be programmed to recognise your cat’s microchip (or the supplied RFID collar tag), and only opens up when they approach the feeder.
