You can not use the hardware just with this interface — the Deco mobile app is necessary. By the way, not the names of the Main Deco (Office) and the satellite (hallway.) One particularly nice feature is the ability to route individual clients through a third-party VPN gateway. TP-Link’s implementation isn’t as versatile as Asus’ VPN Fusion tool. It only supports one server connection at once and only works with OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPSec servers, whereas the Asus system supports up to 16 connections and works with WireGuard. Still, the Deco’s VPN support will be fine for most people – it’s a definite plus point.
Here’s the underside of the TP-Link Deco, where you’ll find its default Wi-Fi network used for the setup process. It's recommended that users stop all Internet applications on the computer, or simply disconnect Internet line from the device before the upgrade.The Archer AXE75 is a modest tri-band 2×2 router with a top bandwidth of 5400Mbps, including 2402Mbps on the 6 GHz band, 2402Mbps on the 5GHz band, and 574 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. But if you need to add more units, the process is easy as long as you have a mobile phone to run the TP-Link Deco app. All you have to do is follow the well-thought-out onscreen instructions. When I enabled 6E client connections and repeated the test on the 6GHz band, the XE200 didn’t fare so well: You must use the Deco mobile app for the setup process. After that, there’s an option to access a few settings of the Deco XE200 via its local web user interface.
And as though to prove that commitment, the networking vendor today announced five additional Wi-Fi 6E broadcasters, including two high-end routers, a high-end mesh, an entry-level router, and an entry-level mesh. Like previous Deco sets, the XE200 has relatively limited network settings, typifying any app-operated canned mesh system. In short, even when hosting a super-fast brand or a local server, the 10Gbps port doesn’t have any way to show its performance on the hardware’s output front. So, this port is always overkill.

Like all Wi-Fi 6E hardware, the XE200 has three distinctive bands, including 6GHz, 5GHz, and 2.4GHz. A Wi-Fi connection between two direct parties occurs in a single band, using one fixed channel, at any given time. This principle applies to all existing Wi-Fi standards, up to Wi-Fi 6E. Actual network speed may be limited by the rate of the product's Ethernet WAN or LAN port, the rate supported by the network cable, internet service provider factors, and other environmental conditions. In short, the XE200 is very thin on settings and features. But that can be good for folks who want a mesh that works for their Wi-Fi connection needs and not much else. In all, this router is such as novelty that it deserves a separate post. First Quad-band router: Archer AXE300 (AXE16000) These include an AXE5400 Triband Wi-Fi 6E Range Extender (RE815X), an AXE5400 Wi-Fi 6E Bluetooth 5.2 PCIe Adapter (Archer TXE75E), and a Wi-Fi 6AX1800 High Gain Wireless USB Adapter (Archer TX20UH). Like many modern routers, the TP-Link Deco XE200 can be managed through the TP-Link Deco app, and I generally like the app. The app lets you see and manage the devices connected to your network, set up some smart home automations, and more. The system offers excellent coverage too. With only one set up, you’ll get an impressive 3,300 square feet of coverage, which is raised to 6,600 square feet with a second node. That’s more than much of the competition, which often offers between 2,000 and 2,500 square feet of range.It runs on a quad-core 1.7GHz CPU and supports TP-Link’s OneMesh right out of the box. But if you need a Wi-Fi system, it’s a better idea to get the new Deco XE75 instead. My main complaint? The routers are relatively large. Routers can get decently large, and the Deco XE200 isn’t over-the-top — but you’ll still need to find a good place for it. The Deco XE200 has no USB port — which is not a surprise and can be a good thing in terms of having fewer cables connecting to the hardware. Folks looking to use their router as a mini NAS server will be disappointed. But the design can be a bit problematic. When placed on a surface — and there’s no mounting option unless you get third-party accessories — the router is not stable. It topples easily. HomeShield includes the Free Basic Plan.
