About this deal

These batteries were discontinued in 2012 when Makita introduced the LXT line. The LXT batteries are based on Li-ion technology, which is more efficient and more powerful than NiCd technology. They are also smaller and lighter than the yellow connector batteries. Having tried quite a few different copy makes of the Makita battery . I have come to the conclusion the Makita battery are much better performance wise. Compact and lightweight battery charger designed to charge slide type lithium-ion batteries BL1011B, BL1021B and BL1016B.

Over Heat Protection: Extreme heat is the enemy of ALL batteries. It can make batteries charge slower, damage battery cells, and reduce battery life. Makita STAR Protection Computer Controls™ monitor battery heat during operation. If the battery reaches a certain level of heat it will cut power to the tool.

12V & 7.2V LITHIUM-ION

Equipped with Star Protection Computer Controls™ to protect against overloading, over-discharging and over-heating The yellow connector batteries were first introduced in 2004 and were the first 18V batteries available from Makita. They were based on NiCd technology, which is less efficient and less powerful than the Li-ion technology used in the LXT batteries. They were also larger and heavier than LXT ones. The new Makita 2.0Ah battery with a 30 minute fast charge time with a DC10SB charger or 70 minute standard charge time with a DC10WD charger. The Makita 18V Compact Lithium-Ion battery charges faster and works longer than standard 18V compact lithium-ion batteries, giving you and your Makita cordless tools unmatched performance and productivity in a compact size. The Makita 2.0 Ah battery delivers up to 50% more run time per charge than the Makita BL1815 18V Compact battery, with a fast charge time of only 25 minutes for increased efficiency.

Makita technology delivers category-leading charge time so the battery spends more time working and less time sitting on the charger (charger not included) Compatible only with Star Protection tools, indicated by the Star Symbol™ and/or Yellow Battery Receiver under the tool Recharge time for the BL1850B 5.0Ah battery is just 45 minutes when using a Makita DC18RC or DC18RA fast charger. This compares with 22 minutes for the popular 3.0Ah 18v Makita Li-ion battery or 36 minutes for the 4.0Ah Li-ion battery. The battery capacity indicator LED's which show you how much power you have left at the touch of a button. The new Makita 1.5Ah battery with a 22 minute fast charge time with a DC10SB charger or 50 minute standard charge time with a DC10WD charger

Makita BL1850B 18v 5Ah Li-ion battery is compatible with 18v tools if they have a star on the connector plate or has a yellow connector plateMakita 18V Lithium-Ion is the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style battery Battery delivers consistent power and run time in extreme temperatures, even in winter (-4°F/-20°C) Makita's old 18V batteries and tools with the yellow connector are a discontinued line of products that were replaced by the newer, more powerful LXT line of tools and batteries. The yellow connector batteries are still compatible with some older Makita tools, but they are not as efficient or powerful as the LXT batteries. DC18RD is a two port fast charger that is able to charge two Makita Li-ion batteries (14.4V-18V) at the same time, as fast as DC18RC charges one battery. Where uninterrupted run time is critical, such as on remote construction locations or where charging capacity is distant and would mean valuable time lost away from the operating point, extended run time is all important. The Makita BL1850B 5.0Ah 18v Li-ion battery provides 66% more run time than that of the 3.0Ah battery whilst maintaining the same size and weight so maintaining the excellent balance and comfort of a Makita tool in use.
