Monster was licensed in North America by Viz Media, who published all 18 volumes between 21 February 2006 and 16 December 2008. [1] Starting in July 2014, they published a re-release of the series in nine two-in-one volumes, titled Monster: The Perfect Edition, with a new volume published every three months. [1] The series has also received domestic releases in other countries, such as in Germany by Egmont Manga & Anime, in France and the Netherlands by Kana, in Spain by Planeta DeAgostini, in Brazil by Conrad Editora and later by Panini Comics, in Argentina by Larp Editores, in Taiwan by Tong Li Publishing, in Mexico by Grupo Editorial Vid, and in Poland by Hanami. I really enjoyed this one. It's a slow burn without a doubt so it takes a bit to get warmed up to. Urasawa never will never shy away from having more human moments for the characters to let them grow. His build on their life and persona in public and in their own thoughts is all well done. The villain in here is both frightening and devious. I can't wait to see more of him. The political nature of a job is also a interesting world that anyone who works or worked in corporate places knows how it goes. Johan also reveals that he is the one who murdered Director Heinemann and the two hospital officials nine years ago to thank Dr. Tenma for saving his life. Johan is pleased to see how much Dr. Tenma has benefited from the murders, but a distraught Dr. Tenma is horrified. It's been a while since I've read any manga, but by being thought-provoking, gripping and atmospheric, the opening of this series is a wild success. Urasawa later wrote and illustrated the novel Another Monster, a story detailing the events of the manga from an investigative reporter's point of view, which was published in 2002. The manga was adapted by Madhouse into a 74-episode anime television series, which aired on Nippon TV from April 2004 to September 2005. The manga and anime were both licensed by Viz Media for English releases in North America, and the anime was broadcast on several television channels. In 2013, Siren Visual licensed the anime for Australia. Junkers begins to recover, and Dr. Tenma forms a tentative bond with him. They share stories from their past, with Junkers lamenting that he was pulled into a life of crime due to a youthful mistake. Dr. Tenma encourages him to confess everything to Inspector Lunge, who has offered to drop the charges against Junker in exchange for information about the serial murders.
