About this deal

I think we have a little bit of Aisling in all of us so it's really easy to identify with her. I found myself getting quite emotional in some of the lifelike, sobering scenes but it wasn't long before I found myself laughing again. Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen need to bottle Aisling and prescribe her in place of anti-depressants; I can't imagine anyone reading it without a smile on their face. Aisling goes out every Saturday night with her best friend Majella, who is a bit of a hames (she’s lost two phones already this year – Aisling has never lost a phone). Armed with her best wrap dress and heels, Aisling boards a business-class flight to New York to start a new adventure. Oh My God, What a Complete Aisling made me smile and laugh, and though she's odd in many ways, I really warmed to Aisling - seeing the world through her eyes is so entertaining, and left my hugely amused. Her observations on other people and their habits are brilliant. Some parts are ridiculous but that's all part of the fun, and there are some much more serious moments too - it's not all light and fluffy.

Irish Book Awards Popular Fiction Book of the Year – The Importance of Being Aisling [ citation needed] McLysaght and Breen say they hope the book brings comfort to readers after a difficult year, though the book is (thankfully) set in a Covid-free universe. The match is in extra time with less than a minute to go,” I point out, nodding at the telly. “You were out for the count.” So weit, so gut. So who is Aisling? In short, she’s the Irish everywoman who over the past six years and five books has become a runaway publishing success story. Co-author Sarah Breen summed her up best for this newspaper in 2017. “Aisling’s the country girl who works up in Dublin but has precisely zero time for your city notions, thank you very much. She loves working in the Big Smoke – very sophisticated altogether – but she loves going Down Home every weekend even more ... Aisling loves a good wake; Aisling has never hidden from the television licence inspector; Aisling knows the Weight Watchers points in everything.”There's a theme of romance in this, but it's not a romantic story, more a coming of age story which disappointed me a bit if I'm honest. The end kind of came up from nowhere and ends were left loose which isn't my thing, but still, a good read. Irish Book Awards Popular Fiction Book of the Year – Once, Twice, Three Times an Aisling [ citation needed] Without spoiling anything, the last line is so utterly and completely Aisling, it’s the perfect ending to the series and will be very satisfying for readers who have read all five books. And we said listen, all the best things come to an end…and we said we’d rather go out on a high than to drag it along after us.”

Aisling is at that age where all around her people are getting married. Surely she’s next. After all, she and her boyfriend John have been together for seven years. When a romantic getaway turns into a disaster, Aisling decides it’s time to move on. Leaving John behind, she moves from her tiny village to the bright lights of Dublin. Thankfully Breen and McLysaght have left Aisling’s ending open to the possibility of more books and I’m holding out for a And Just Like That -style reboot in 25 years’ time when Aisling and the girls will walk the Camino. Edel Coffey I feel a little sting of jealousy watching everyone crowd around Denise. John and I have actually been going out eight months longer than she and Liam, and they got engaged two years ago. Meanwhile, we’re not even living together. The authors said: "[Aisling is] Someone we aspire to be more like. Since our first book was published we’ve been blown away by the number of people, male and female, who proudly declare they are 'complete Aislings'. Read More Related Articles Here she is … Aisling Ever After, the fifth and final book in the series, is out on August 31st,” Sarah enthused.Don’t change that, the second half is just after starting,” he grumbles, pushing himself up in the chair and fixing his glasses. “How did that bloody cat get in?” At 12.31, we’re pulling out of the driveway, the atmosphere between us in the car a little warmer than in the diningroom, but there’s still a strange tension, hanging around like a ferocious smell. In a cloud of Lynx Africa (John) and Clinique Happy (me), we slip out of the room and leg it to the lift, which – and this is proof that God exists – is apparently waiting for us. Forty-five seconds later, we walk into the diningroom, which, to my horror and disgust, is absolutely heaving.
