About this deal

Easy French Toast Waffles - if you love both French Toast and Waffles then this is the recipe for you. Perfect for breakfast or dessert. If you put your waffles in the microwave for too long, they might get soft and soggy, or alternately, dry and chewy. So be sure to pay attention to get the timing just right! I topped mine with some fresh strawberries, blueberries and a tablespoon of maple syrup for 2 syns. I live in Canada after all, you just can't have waffles or pancakes without maple syrup and it is only 2 syns for a tablespoon. Again, you can go straight from the freezer to the oven no problem, you’ll just need a few more minutes of heat. Now that you know how easy it is to reheat waffles, you might want to make extra next time for a future, no-fuss breakfast.

If they need a little extra time, keep heating in 30 second intervals until it’s toasted to your liking! Like the other commenters, I'd like to know why this recipe was rated so low on the scale. I intend to try the recipe to form my own opinion, but having made a lot of waffles over the years, my guess is these sandwich waffles are quite a bit heavier than those made with waffle batter. I cannot imagine the sandwich bread taste is as light as the sandwich bread nor as sweet as some waffle batters. Really though, the recipe is what it is- nobody claimed it was airy light sandwich bread waffles. It did give me an idea though- -sandwich bread grilled cheese waffles sound pretty good with some tomato basil soup! A third exclaimed: "Another thing I have learned today is that you can toast your Waffles in a TOASTER. Birds Eye did some rigorous testing. Wow, new work lunch option success."

The king of biscuits recently launched three new Digestive biscuit flavours, including cherry bakewell, strawberries and cream and marmalade on toast. Alternatively, you can also freeze waffle batter. If you run out of time to cook all your waffles, the batter will be fine to freeze and defrost for later, no waste necessary! McVitie's Toasting Waffles are currently sold at most major supermarkets, including Iceland, Tesco and Asda, both in store and online.

Reheating in the oven will get your waffles close to their original texture and taste, almost like they’re freshly made.Using the microwave is another fast way to reheat your waffles. Like with a toaster, you can pop frozen or refrigerated waffles into the microwave no problem. After about two months, the quality of the waffles will begin to deteriorate. They will still be edible, but the taste and texture will start to change. For the best possible waffles, reheat within 2 months. Shoppers can now buy McVitie's Toasting Waffles in two different flavours at supermarkets all over the country. Pro tip – Get yourself a microwave crisper tray! This is a special plate that heats up in the microwave like a frying pan. They come in a delicious chocolate flavour as well as a plain version. We're sure that you'll love both.
