The Moon-biter Squigalance takes a lot of the guess work from this process, you can pretty easily include it without much problem and it contains mostly everything you’d want anyway. Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz Four, including the now ubiquitous ‘have ever battle tactic you complete be from your faction list’. Protect da Shrine! Could potentially see some use, requiring you to have no enemy models within 12” of the Loonshrine at the end of the game, and for it to have not been smashed to rubble. Superior Spell-flinger has a Tzeentchy flair and asks you to have two of the Gitz endless spells on the battlefield when the game ends. You don’t have as much control of that as you might like, but the Scuttletide at least can be quite difficult to dispel.

Before we get carried away with the kunnin’ tactics, let’s just remind ourselves who we’re dealing with. Who Are the Gloomspite Gitz? Oh man look at this rogue’s gallery. Most of them have ended up being more trouble than they’re worth and I’ve narrowed it down to a few favorites. I feel really strongly that running a Battle Regiment with Jaws of Mork is a must, so with only three slots available, they gotta pull their weight. The Bad It provides a flexible basis for an army at a good bundle price, but may not be the right way to start if you want to double-down on a particular theme, like Squigs or Troggoths. Bile Squigs comprise any breed of Squig that squirts, spray or vomit harmful fluids. They are a common ammunition for Squig Launchas and Heavy Squig Launchas used by Rukkatrukk Squigbuggies. Typically launched by the handful, these disgusting creatures squeal and thrash while madly jetting acids, lubricants, poisons and flammable bio-slop in every direction. The foe are drenched in disgusting -- and often harmful -- slime, leading to much hilarity amongst the Rukkatrukk crew as their victims slip, skid, scream in pain, burst into flames, dissolve or worse.Finally there’s Chasing the Moon which requires your general to survive the battle, potentially much easier than it used to be if they’re a Galetian Champion, and to have been affected by the Light of the Bad Moon in 3 battle rounds. Battle Tactics My Best List” would probably be a more accurate title. Or really “My Best Jaws of Mork List,” since I’m actually cooking up a Glogg’s list right now that I think will be meaner than anything I could do with all these squigs. Unfortunately, as you’ve already seen, I’ve drifted away from the purity of my earlier “only models with visible squigs” rule. But this list still has more squigs than you can shake a squig at. A Vaccine Squig's own immune system produces natural vaccines and antibodies to a host of different pathogens that are extracted and used by Painboyz to aid diseased Orks. Moonclan units get Frothing Zealots for everyone’s favourite 4+ rally and Lunar Squigs still provides the excellent ability to run and charge for squigs. Spiderfang Venom upgrades the spider venom of your spiderfang units to trigger on an unmodified 5+, and Moonlit Hide is your trogg buff for +1 to save rolls.

Needless to say, these creatures not only make for excellent ammunition for Squig Launchas, but they are also dropped by the crews of Rukkatrukk Squigbuggies as living landmines, and are favourite props when it comes to Greenskin practical jokes. Nothing provokes greater amusement amongst a Rukkatrukk crew than hiding a Boom Squig under their driver's seat, though this can prove inconvenient for everyone if it happens to trigger while the buggy is in full motion. During deployment, instead of setting up this unit on the battlefield, you can place it to one side and say that it is set up hidden as a reserve unit. You can set up 1 unit hidden in this manner for each friendly MOONCLAN GROT unit consisting of 5 or more models that is on the battlefield and that does not have the SQUIG or FANATIC keyword. The Chewin' Squig is another variant of the Gob Squig. An Ork can pop this sort of Squig into his mouth and chew on it while he sits and thinks (or sits and enjoys not thinking).

Kragnos gets reprinted here and remains Kragnos. He loves to charge in nice and early with some other big scary melee threats to take advantage of his 3d6” charge aura, and the newly juiced up squigs should suit this purpose nicely if you’re Kragnos-inclined. The Gloomspite Gitz battletomecontains all the rules, Warscrolls, and army abilities you need to build an army of nasty little goblins and their reeking allies.

The Gobbapalooza are five wise-grots, each with their own particular powers and features from their fungal follies. The Gobbapalooza includes a Shroomancer, Spiker, Boggleye, Scaremonger and Brewgit. They can be used as individual heroes or as a unit. Grimscuttle is a total rewrite from the old White Dwarf rules and feels like it still doesn’t quite get there for what is one of the weaker standalone parts of the army. This now lets you deploy up to two spiderfang units off the board with each skitterstrand that you have already deployed in ambush from beyond – bringing all the units on together when the skitterstrand deploys onto the board. It’s certainly an interesting way to keep some of your units safe from early alpha strikes, but can leave you at the mercy of multiple 9” charges. Battalions The new Squig Hopper kit also makes an armoured variant called the Boingrot Bounders. Crazy goblin knights ahoy! Slower but hit harder and have more armour than squig hoppers. Bitey Squigs include any squiggly beast with sufficient jaws, claws and stingers to savage the target and anything standing close by. They are a favourite ammunition for Ork Squig Launchas. Launched gnashing and snarling into the enemy, they latch onto the first thing they hit and do not stop chewing until they are bludgeoned, stomped or shot to death. The Horned Squig is a Squig which is gifted with long, sharp horns stretching from its head that Orks often jam into barricades to serve as living obstacles.

The new Fanatics kit allows you to build five Fanatics. Standard Moonclan Fanatics have now been renamed Loonsmasha Fanatics and can be concealed inside your own units. The kit will also build “puffshroom-swinging Sporesplatta Fanatics” which shield your units from shooting with choking clouds of spores. Rules are included for five different subfactions of Gitz.Da King’s Gitz are the most numerous of all the troglodyte hordes, and can re-roll the dice when trying to return destroyed units to the table using the Loonshrine’s Moonclan Lairs ability. The Badsnatchers are sneaky and magical, and get better at spell casting when they gang up close to each other.

Squig hoppers now have their own modern plastic kit with interchangeable riders and customisable squigs. Warshcrawla Sloggoth : As you can see by now I’ve gone very far off the original “squigs only” theme. But where the Marshcrawla is concerned it’s been absolutely worth it. Finally, an aura so big it can keep up with my army. Well most of it; even 18″ isn’t big enough to catch any units you have to send off on the flanks. But the +1 to hit has been great and it also gives me another fairly nasty monster to send in in a pinch. This type of Squig has a large, gaping mouth and a bag-like body that is almost entirely composed of stomach. The stomach functions secondarily as a pouch that allows the Squig to survive by slowly digesting food it stores up inside its body. If the Squig is dried out, it can be made into a flask for drinks. If it is tanned like leather, it makes a useful bag or belt pouch. Troggs have the Glowy Howzit , a mighty 4+ ward artefact that gets turned off if you roll a 1 after taking damage that isn’t negated, and the Pet Gribbly which gives +1 wound and then +1 to hit and wound if you roll a 1 after taking damage that isn’t negated. The star of the article, the Jaws of Mork. Up until now, Gloomspite Gitz were one of the few 2.0 books to not get any subfactions so this is actually their first one. If it wasn’t clear by now, this is for people who want to use lots of Squigs, a fairly popular choice for many Gloomspite players. Most of the abilities serve to benefit squig heavy lists in some way and the options here aren’t bad. Like most every book to date, subfactions grant you a new allegiance ability and command ability at the cost of a new relic and general trait you’re required to take. Allegiance Ability: Running Riot
