About this deal

I personally don't understand the Sauvage comparison but i agree that there are similarities in the core. Davidoff cool water perfume does have it's own DNA though. Cool Water is a natural entry point into the world of perfumes for men and I think it excels in that role. This is first and fore-most a sweet, aquatic scent with some florals and aromatics to give a bit of freshness and a bit of green spice. It's fair to say the scent is a bit synthetic but it's honestly balanced well enough that it's not unbearable unless you really really overspray. I love Cool Water because of the memories, I love it because of it's simple message, most of all I love it because it smells nice.

There is very little difference between Creed's Green Irish Tweed and Cool Water, particularly in the air. And I live in a country where 99.999% of the people would never have heard of GIT. Cool Water is an incredible fragrance, and you can get a 200ml. bottle for a sixth of the price of Green Irish Tweed. Cool Water is the greenest fragrance I have in my collection, and it is a summer staple for me. Fresh, crisp, cool, green, uplifting, sexy. Longevity in recent bottles have been around 8 hours, which is good. After middle school I denied Cool Water as Peter did Jesus. I thought it cheap and outdated, unwilling to be associated with such a fragrance I denounced it roundly. 20 odd years later, while in law school, I finally came home. I will say this smell is outdated, but I would personally wear it anyways, I honestly enjoyed it, also if you are looking for uniqueness I guess this would be it now because there's not many frags been worn like this from what I experience when I'm out and about. If anyone wants to know what it smells like when you add vetiver to the ORIGINAL Cool Water edt scent from 1988 has to buy the two following fragrances and layer them. After owning CWP for a short time now, it has grown on me. I now appreciate what it is meant for. A clean dumb reach with a modern feel. However, its structure is an otherwise conventional fougère in that it consists of a lavender head, floral heart and woody oak moss base. Head Notes It says on the box " we have taken the original and added some vetiver" and I have to say no....you did not. If you took the original and added some vetiver it would smell different.

As a kid, I thought Cool Water was simply the most incredible fragrance I ever smelled. It was a "soul satisfying" scent to me, and it evoked memories and nostalgia from a time I never even had. It was simply incredible, refreshing, and amazing, and STRONG. It should be in EVERY collector's collection simply because it Fathered modern fragrance. It sent a ripple through the fragrance industry for sure. So masculine, so sexy, so ASSERTIVE but so cool. This fragrance smells martian to me. Nowadays fragrances play with mixing masculinity and femininity but Cool Water doesn't play any of the charades. At all lol.No comparisons to Sauvage which was a bit of a let down for me, since I was looking for an ambroxan heavy fragrance. Ohh right! It doesn’t have any ambroxan so if that’s what you’re after keep looking.

This is miles ahead of the two other blue/aquatic cheapies I own, Nautica Voyage and Azzaro Chrome, which are not suited for anyone older than 14 and even one spray of which could be nausea inducing for some. Unlike those, Cool Water is actually wearable, and comes in a really nice, barbershop style glass bottle. I bought the big 200ml bottle and don't regret it at all. What Coty has done is adding vetiver to a citric peppery and creamy sandalwood scent and they have done a good job. The fragrance follows a current trend using pink pepper and even though it is not listed i personally sense a light Tonka vibe as well. The head is not brief but certainly short-lived. However, it’s the heart that’s particularly fleeting. If you don’t remind yourself to smell it in time, you’ve likely already missed it.For me this smells like a Chanel de Bleu EDT (that I own) stripped of all the extra citruses, ginger, Iso E Super, and other notes. To my nose it just retains the citrus in the top, with clean full vetiver and sandalwood. The previously mentioned fatty creaminess can turn rancid on some skins towards the end of its life. If smelt too closely to the skin, this has the unfortunate likeness of a deep fat fryer. Although the Calone does ensure that there is a freshness, it can be somewhat nose curling. Wake & Strength

Yes, it is true that our noses and olfactory senses change as we grow and become accustomed to newer scents in life. However, the extreme manner in which Cool Water has been destroyed is not simply due to maturing olfactory senses. What Davidoff has done to Cool Water is a tragedy and it is very real. Just, dont expect a Sauvage clone. Fresh blue shower gel frag that has more in common with Dylan Blue than any other. But even that is a streach. Its a blue clean frag that can resemble many others if you search for it. Will you smell wow... yes you will. Is it something you gotta have if you have BDC, ADG Profumo, Dylan Blue, Sauvage... absolutely not. Maybe you dont like ones mentioned above. Maybe Sauvage annoys you. Maybe Dylan Blue is too zesty. Mayve you cant stand that sharp ambrox. Maybe others are too expensive, too sweet, synthtic... this could be for you. Smooth vetiver with even smoother sandalwood with a touch of watery citrus rose. If you have ever smelled a rose after a rain... that kind of pleasent smell. The oak moss freshness maintains the cool texture as we delve into the base. This is reinforced by sharp notes of cedar wood, which contrast with a warm musky presence. The musk is undeniably aldehydic with a fatty finish, which ensures that is stays more animal than amber. The immediate hit of Calone is Cool Water’s trademark. This is what creates the overarching aquatic scent. However, it is accompanied by a discernable lavender bouquet and other cool aromatics. Although pine is a fitting description for this overall fresh sensation, there are underlying hints of peppermint and coriander. A very simple fragrance that stays very linear, but it lasts a long time and projects strongly. It is very pleasant to smell and my wife liked it and even complemented it which she doesn’t always do. For the price it is perfect for the summer, daytime not the freshest but still pleasantly clean and slightly cozy, creamy, sweet. Suitable for the office and a budget minimalistic version of CDB EDP (it’s not a clone! Just has the core notes of CDB EDP).As the volatile aromatics begin to evaporate, refreshing notes of rosemary emerge from the woodwork and draw us towards the fragrance’s heart. Heart Notes So I know that designer freshies aren't really that popular when it comes to enthusiastic thinking. It's recycled a lot and I guess that's what we'll keep getting considering fresh fragrances in the future. It's warranted when people dislike it, because the aromatic, spicy and citrusy combo has been done in huge quantities. There's plenty that smell just every so slightly different each time so hey, if you want a freshie then good for you man as you'll have more choice. I just got a bottle that smells like OG cool water and it lasts 6+ hours. Almost afraid to re-apply throughout the day. Despite being a decidedly virile fragrance, its masculinity is not overwhelming and remains surprisingly moderate.
