The Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-M Access Point features high-performance, wide-area WiFi with UniFi Mesh Technology. The quoted wireless specification is given as the maximum radio performance. Achievable range and throughput will vary depending on the regional regulations where the radio is deployed. Two adjustable external omni antennas are included with the UniFi AC Mesh Access Point. There is also the option to expand the coverage range and customise pattern shaping by using the included fast-mount adapter to install the AP on an optional connectorised antenna. UniFi Controller Software Wireless Uplink functionality enables wireless connectivity between APs for extended range. One wired UniFi AP uplink supports up to four wireless downlinks on a single operating band, allowing wireless adoption of devices in their default state and real-time changes to network topology. Standalone Mode should only be used when configuring a small quantity of APs because they do not support seamless roaming. Instead, you will need to manually connect to each AP as you move out of range. Also, APs must have a wired connection to your network; wireless meshing is not possible. Finally, remote management is not possible because it is done entirely through the UniFi Mobile app while locally connected to your WiFi.With the UniFi controller software you can create a highly scalable, end-to-end system of devices spanning multiple locations across the world — all controlled by a single interface accessed via the Internet or local network.
