About this deal

The Huawei B535 - also known as the Three 4G Hub or the Huawei HomeFi Plus - is a 4G home broadband router, which, as well as being able to buy SIM-free from some stores, you can also get on contract from Three.

It’s a simple, plain white rectangular box with some status indicators on the front and a grey band around the edge. It looks fine, and for better or worse it won’t stand out as much as the aforementioned Huawei AI Cube, or even the likes of the Vodafone GigaCube, which is plain too but has a more noticeable tower-like design. Once set up, there’s a lot to like here. The B535 WebBox can get up to 64 devices online at once, which ismore than most people should need. It’s also a match for the Three 4G Hub, the Three 5G Hub, and the likes of the 4GEE Home Router 2, as well as topping the Vodafone GigaCube 4G. I wondered if devices connected to the 333 were working ok on EE without the connection to the USG, to get an idea if there's a problem with the EE SIM / APN in isolation. My 333 will not work on 4G with a Lebara (Vodafone) SIM, but it works fine on 3G. With an iD Mobile SIM, both 3G & 4G work without issue. In theory, the modem of the Huawei B535 LTE router can reach speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s in the downlink and up to 100 Mbit/s in the uplink (LTE Cat7). Almost all frequency bands important for Europe are supported, as the following list shows. Only the band 32 (1,500 MHz) cannot be used by the router, but there are no restrictions. Huawei does not provide any information about the possible CA combinations. The Huawei B535-333 is a fast, reliable 4G+ router from Huawei featuring two SMA-female antenna connections, for use with an external antenna. While it's not the fastest model Huawei offers, it is highly reliable and can achieve speeds as high as 400Mb/s. Our best selling antenna that is commonly used with the Huawei B535 router is the Fullband MIMORAD and if you need a slightly higher gain antenna then the Fullband FBXPMIMO antenna has cross-polarized antennas inside the housing which will provide an optimised signal reception.

Unfortunately, neither the app nor the web interface offer the option of displaying detailed information about the Internet connection, such as the frequency band used, the antenna technology used or the CA status. There are also no such settings, for example to set the router to a specific frequency band. The LTE router models from AVM, for example the FRITZ! Box 6820 LTE offers significantly better equipment in this area. After all, there is the possibility to use “only 3G” or “only 4G”. The Huawei B535 does not support GSM / 2G anyway. Thanks for the firmware info, I found a copy of B535-333 11.0.2.51(H380SP2C21) online & might try to downgrade mine from the slightly later Three version on mine: For a budget 2×2 MiMo Antenna then the Panorama DMM-6-602sp-5G is a low cost 4G antenna with 2m of cable that will provide a nice solution for a window based antenna for this router. This slim white rectangle comes in at 219 x 138mm and has a grey stand, slightly contrasting the colour of the box itself. There are a number of small lights along the front, showing you at a glance the router’s status, but that’s about as close as it gets to any kind of design flair. Setup Buy the B535-333 4G Router to easily create a 4G Internet service for multiple PC’s with high speed 4G connectivity. As for software, this isn’t something you’ll likely be interacting with much, but the Huawei B535 WebBox does have a simple web interface, allowing you to configure settings and read messages – as there’s no display, you have to access this from an external device. With slight caveats (see below), an iPad connected directly to the B535's wifi (not via the USG) does have internet connectivity. As soon as a wall came between the router and the end device, the data rate dropped noticeably. Fast surfing and video streaming was also about 10 meters away from the router and was still possible without problems after two walls. The Wi-Fi range of the Huawei B535 was convincing in the test!
