They may be able to recommend an eye drop dispenser. Using eye drops correctly can be difficult, but there are several useful devices (compliance aids) available to help. Hold the bottle or dropper over your eye, look up, and allow 1 drop to fall into your lower eyelid.Celluvisc eye drops come in single-dose units that are sterile and preservative-free. Each unit is for single use only. There should be enough in each dose unit to treat both eyes if required. Once you have put the drops in you should throw away the dose unit, even if there is some medicine left in it. If you are using more than one type of eye drop you should administer them at least five minutes apart, to prevent the second drop washing away the first. Use eye gels or ointments last. Carmellose sodium comes in a bottle with an eye dropper, or as a box of single-dose droppers. The single-dose droppers do not contain preservatives. How to use the eye drops After putting in the eye drops you may get slightly blurred vision or a mild stinging sensation. If your vision is affected it is recommended that you do not drive or use any machinery until your vision has cleared.

Please take care that the dropper doesn't touch your eye, your fingers, or any other surface. This could contaminate the drops left in the bottle. gently massaging your eyelids with your finger or a cotton bud – this pushes the oils out of the glands This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. Carmellose Sodium, Lactic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Edetate, Cetrimide, Sterile Water. This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.It’s also very important to keep your eyelids clean. Wipes, pads or rinses are available to buy from pharmacies, or you can simply use warm water. If you’re using a bottle, remove the lid. If you’re using the single-dose dropper, twist the top off. If you also use an eye ointment, always use your eye drops first and wait 5 minutes before using the ointment. If you use carmellose sodium with other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes before using your other eye drops. The second eye drops can wash out the carmellose sodium and it may not work as well. There are no known harmful effects when this medicine is used by pregnant or breastfeeding mothers.

The usual dose for adults and children is 1 drop into the affected eye(s), 4 times a day, or as needed.

These eye drops are unlikely to have any harmful effect when used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, as with all medicines, these drops should be used with caution by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and only on the advice of a doctor. Superficial injury of eye ( from the vial tip touching the eye during administration) and/or corneal abrasion. If you forget to use the drops at your 'usual' time, do not worry, just put them in when you remember. Do not 'double up' the number of drops you use to make up for forgetting to use them.
