About this deal

The Ender 5 shows an open-frame extruded aluminum cubic structure. When properly assembled, it results in a rigid and sturdy construction. The open design eliminates the risk of collision between the hot bed and the frame, an issue frequently encountered when printing with the Ender 3. On the right side of the printer, an LCD display attached to the gantry lets you directly operate the device. The rotating dial lets you navigate the menu and select the printing settings in just a few steps.

From there, the Ender 5 Pro jazzes things up with a new V1.15 silent mainboard with TMC2208 drivers for quiet printing (well, at least quiet by 3D printing standards). There’s now thermal runaway protection in case things get a little too heated, too. Extruder Arm: this add-on shortens the Bowden extruder to lighten the weight of the direct extruder on the moving components. If the build succeeds it is ready for you to upload to your printer. You will know if it was successfully built because it will show a SUCCESS in green at the bottom of the window in Visual Studio Code. Example of what a successful compile looks like. Your environment name may be different from what is shown above. The assembly is also very similar for both 3D printers. The number of modules is about the same, but the Ender-5 Pro still has the screen with the rotary knob, which must be mounted on the side. The display on the Ender-5 S1 is built into the base and does not need to be mounted. The Ender 3 V2 ships with a tempered carborundum glass bed, while the Ender 5 Pro has a classic magnetic build plate.By now you’re probably asking yourself the same question many of us have. If the Creality Ender 3 is such a powerhouse, then why pay more for the Ender 5?

Build volume determines the size of the prints you can create, so is a feature well worth mulling over before pulling out your credit card. The Ender 3 V2 has a 220 x 220 x 250 mm build volume, while the Ender 5 Pro offers a slightly larger 220 x 220 x 300 mm. As the Neo name implies, there are plenty of new features here. There’s automatic bed leveling courtesy of Creality’s CR Touch system, a full-metal Bowden extruder, and a flexible PC spring steel magnetic build plate. The Ender 5 is a larger and better version of the Ender 3 Pro. It is engineered with a magnetic heated bed, an 8-mm-rod for the Z-axis, a dual Y-axis engine, and a dedicated stepper motor for each of the axes. It features an auto-resume function aimed at preventing printing failures due to power loss. This lets you complete your print jobs at any time. The Ender 5 can print as fast as 80mm/s without affecting the quality of the model. It features a build area of 220 x 220 x 300mm. I was able to move most of the tolerance tests (up to 0.2mm) so I think this can be a successful print if a better filament is used. You need to perform this type of leveling regularly on the Ender-5 Pro. With the Ender-5 S1, you only need to perform it once after assembly and can then run the automatic leveling regularly. Extruder Ender-5 S1 Ender-5 Pro

The old Ender 5 had some issues with the bed which was sagging and needed supports underneath to keep the bed parallel to the print head. While the Ender 5 S1 comes with 12 mm steel rods to ensure the stiffness of the bed, the main issue is with the overall weight of the bed and the metallic support which is used not being very stiff. Power off your printer and put the SD card into your printer’s SD slot. Turn the power on. This will cause the printer to flash the firmware from the SD card to your printer CPU. This may take up to 1 minute on some boards.
