Heat it up! Utilizing the butterfly handles, the Outer Ti Cup can be used to heat water and cook food alongside hot coals or near a direct flame. Can also be used with the Grayl titanium camp stove. Aside from filter changes, you should clean the UltraPress after every time you use it. Cleaning involves performing a “dry press”– pressing the purifier into the empty bottle and getting rid of any excess water. Leave the filter for up to 4 days to dry thoroughly, which will prevent a buildup of odors and mildew while the filter is in storage. Filters: Particulates (sediment, microplastics) and ultra-powdered activated carbon adsorbs many chemicals (including PFAS & VOCs), pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, flavors and odors. We’ve used our UltraPress purifier bottles extensively, purifying hundreds of litres of water that would otherwise have been undrinkable. Another unique feature of the Titanium UltraPress is the fact that it’s drink mix ready. This is something I’ve personally never heard of in a water filtration system. Although the UltraPress requires a bit of oomph to use, it’s not at all complicated. The simplicity and speed at which you can get clean water makes the effort worth it!

You can’t really ‘extend’ the lifespan of your Grayl filters but you can make sure they reach the150L mark before they need to be replaced. These top tips will help you get the most out of your filters and apply for any water bottle with a filter, not just Grayl bottles! They’ll clean water from almost any source — although the filters will last longer if you avoid stagnant or silty water as much as possible. You should always try to filter fast running, clear water to extend the life of your filters!The electro-adsorptive media acts like a magnet to pull pathogens and other contaminants out of the water. The process of adsorption, not to be confused with absorption, involves these pathogens and contaminants becoming permanently bonded to the adsorptive media and removed from your water. If you know you’ll have frequent water sources, why not carry a lighter bottle? In our opinion, a filter bottle should never be your only water storage, as you should carry another bottle or bladder for storing purified water. My previous experience at this water source always provided yellow water (even after passing through a filter) and a gritty taste. I’m happy to say that the Titanium UltraPress did a fantastic job at not only giving me clean water but improving the taste. I’m not sure how they did that, but it dang sure worked. And it was easy to press the water through. That was a concern of mine going into this. The 10-second claim is accurate and not taxing in the least. What’s Wrong? However, if you’re purifying very dirty or silty water, the lifespan will be reduced. As you use the Grayl bottle, you’ll notice the press time (the time that the purification process takes) going up. When this reaches around 30 seconds, it’s time to replace the filter. Assembling the bottle is easy because there are only two parts: the bottle and the lid (which is connected to the filter). Simply press the filter into the bottle and screw the lid in place.
