Stay on top of your game with the HDJ-X10, designed with input from professional DJs to serve you in every circumstance, from festivals to clubs. The HDJ-X10s are the world’s first DJ headphones 1 to produce high-resolution sound ranging from 5 Hz to 40 kHz, allowing you to hear frequencies other DJ headphones can’t reproduce. Make an even deeper connection to the music. A flat carry case protects your headphones from any damage on the road and provides room for USB devices and SD cards. Pioneer recommends items like the CDJ-2000NXS2 for this, but you can look around to find out what works best for your kit.

There’s also a compartment for your HDJ-X10 DJ headphones too, so everything doesn’t get jumbled together.

Something that makes the sound stage feel even more impressive with the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10s is the excellent isolation they provided. The HDJ-X10 headphones are equipped with our new 50-mm high definition driver, making them the world's first DJ headphones to reproduce high-resolution sound from 5 Hz to 40 kHz. The direct drive structure, with a newly developed diaphragm shape and voice coil, delivers high quality sound without loss of quality due to mechanic loss. The earcups have a rubber ring around them for an easier grip, and the lower half of the cups also have the same rubber grip. These are so the headphones don’t slip when you’re monitoring with one cup on your shoulder, which I think is a nice touch. I do prefer the sleek, simplified look of the HDJ-2000MK2, though. On the plus side, you do get a lot of extra bonuses with these headphones, including Hi-Res certification that you simply can’t find anywhere else. Credit: Pioneer DJ V-Moda M-200 – Built for studio use, these flatter headphones will suit producers and audiophile listeners slightly better.

Creating rich bass notes and clean mid-to-high frequencies, the flagship headphones enable accurate point source monitoring even at loud volumes, and allow you to make a deeper connection with the music. These are more likely to give you better noise cancellation than leading consumer products like the Bose Quiet Comforts, for instance.

The polyurethane leather ear pads and headband cushion are resistant to deterioration thanks to the use of nano coating 2, so you can easily wipe off sweat and dirt. More so than in the studio, you’re likely to move around while DJing and – depending on your style of mixing – move your headphones on and off your ears as you mix. This is where durability and flexibility comes in. Comfort is important too though; no one needs an awkward set of headphones uncomfortably squeezing their head several hours into a marathon DJ set.

Compared to previous products like the HDJ-2000MK2 which acted as inspiration for the HDJ-X10s, there are some things you might miss from the older products. The slimmer form factor of the 2000MK2 DJ headphones will be more appealing to some. From a treble perspective, the HDJ-X10 DJ headphones have a fantastic and modern sound. There’s a lot of crisp focus in the higher frequencies, which is excellent for those who need to keep a tight focus on every sound. Sound stage and Isolation Credit: Pioneer DJ

The first thing you’ll notice is that the bass response in these cans is a little more pronounced compared to the previous versions. If you think that the previous headphones didn’t have much bass compared to the other DJ headphones models on the market, then the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10 will solve that problem for you. Although some people won’t appreciate the largely plastic build of the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10, it’s worth remembering that this doesn’t make your headphones any flimsier, or less effective.

Futhermore, the noise isolation on the HDJ-X10 is second to none. Quite possibly the best noise isolation I’ve experienced in a pair of DJ headphones in recent years – nagging husband / noisy spouse? These are more worth it than a pair of Bose Quiet Comforts – you can’t DJ with those! Although not everyone will be a fan of the unique soundstage offered by the Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10, which makes vocals feel more “in your face”, it’s something that will appeal to a lot of DJs. However, it’s easy to get used to the new fit of the HDJ-X when you consider just how comfortable they are.If you feel like you need to play music at the highest possible fidelity with your DJ headphones, then there’s nothing to stop you from accessing this feature. The sound stage makes the modulation in things like electronic music feel much wider than it would with similar headphones in the range. As any pro DJ or music master in training will agree, standard DJ headphones are rarely enough for mixing and music management. You need something more accurate, robust, and reliable if you’re going to make the most of your career. The independent ground wire in the 4-core twisted-structure cable gives superior left and right channel separation, improving sound quality. In addition, the HDJ-X10 model features a highly reliable, detachable mini-XLR connector for outstanding sound quality. The HDJ-X10’s do not lose any sound quality because of mechanical loss, this is due to the diaphragm and voice coil working perfectly in harmony, whilst the 4-core twisted-structure headphone cable ensures you are getting flawless left and right channel separation. When using the X10s with a TOUR1 or NXS2 set-up the headphones really come into a league of their own, giving you high-definition 96 kHz/24-bit audio with amazing clarity so you can monitor better than ever before.
