Native’s Ellis Sugarlite sandals are environmentally-friendly, with a contoured footbed that kept us feeling secure while walking on different surfaces. But we found that they aren’t supportive enough for a full day of walking. This year’s series of The Apprentice, in which Sugar judges hopeful entrepreneurs doing business-related challenges, was postponed by the BBC due to Covid-19. For walking sandals that won’t break the bank, we recommend Teva’s Original Universal Sandal. We like that they’re fully adjustable, with multiple hook-and-loop straps to help you find the right fit. And their low-profile style helps them fit in everywhere—we wore them from the beach to the yoga studio, and almost everywhere in between. If you’re a Johnnie Walker fan, you’ll know that their portfolio pinnacle is the coveted Blue Label. For this review however, we’ll top-out with their 18 year old. It’s not easy to find supportive sandals that are versatile enough to wear anywhere, but we finally found a pair in Teva’s Tirra Sandal. With a close fit straight out of the box, we like that their hook-and-loop straps are easy to adjust every time we put them on.
In contrast, Johnnie Walker’s plan to entice global drinkers takes a mass market approach. Despite being a very durable shoe, we found that these sandals felt lightweight and easy to wear. This, along with their stable design, makes them ideal for walking long distances. We also like the closure, which features a bungee system that’s easy to adjust as our feet swell throughout the day. And to prevent blisters, the straps have additional padding around the heel. We also found plenty to love about Teva’s Zymic Sandal—so much that it almost took the top slot in our list. While their sporty silhouette makes them slightly less versatile than Keen's Elle Sandal, they have plenty of design features we love. From the moment we slipped into these sandals with their easy hook-and-loop closure, our feet felt stable and supported. Since then, the campaign has been refereshed several times, including by 72andSunny and Crispin, Porter + Bogusky.
