About this deal

And Flutter isn't the only character with no personality. All of Riverstar's character- his coolness, confidence, and mystery is gone. He's suddenly insecure and can't make a decision without StarClan or Night reaching out. I mean, seriously? And why was he "taught" to swim by Night? You'd think they'd have given him a prior connection to the river- at least more than just "oh the river saved me from the park monsters." Personality Leopardstar is an independent, prideful and sassy leader. She does not care much for the needs of other Clans, but is fiercely loyal to RiverClan. [29] Relationships Tigerstar More Coming Soon Mistystar and Stonefur Coming Soon Feathertail and Stormfur Coming Soon Whitefang Whitefang was Leopardstar's mentor, but the two created a bond much before Leopardstar's apprentice days. Whitefang first interacts with Leopardstar when the latter is a kit, Leopardkit. Whitefang catches the young kit spying on two warriors, wanting to learn how to hunt. He teaches her about the difference between the scent of live versus the scent of dead prey, and helps her learn the difference of scents between meadow water and river water. Whitefang reports her to Hailstar, and when Leopardkit states that although Mudfur thinks she is too young and too small to become an apprentice, Whitefang doesn't share the same opinion, causing the white warrior to look at his paws. When Leopardkit is apprenticed, becoming Leopardpaw, Whitefang manages to create a path around the obstacle of Leopardpaw being afraid of water, and is extremely impressed when Leopardpaw and Sunpaw bring him the news that Leopardpaw got over her fear. From then on, Whitefang did exclusive water training with her, knowing that he had to catch her up to the other apprentices. After passing her assessment of catching land prey, Leopardpaw earns her warrior name Leopardfur, and Whitefang is very proud of her. [30] More Coming Soon Mudfur Mudfur was Leopardstar's father, and being Brightsky's only surviving kit, Leopardstar was often spoiled by him. [31] Sunfish Coming Soon Whiteclaw Coming Soon Frogleap Coming Soon Crookedstar Coming Soon Silverstream Coming Soon Firestar and Graystripe Coming Soon Kin Members Riverstar's Home is the only other Super Edition in addition to Firestar's Quest that does not contain an exclusive comic at the end of the book. [14] [15] Secrets of the Clans • Cats of the Clans • Code of the Clans • Battles of the Clans • Enter the Clans • The Ultimate Guide • The Warriors Guide • The Ultimate Guide: Updated and Expanded Edition Shadowstar was the first leader of ShadowClan in the forest territories. Originally named Tall Shadow, she was born in the Ancient Tribe and had a brother, Moon Shadow. She was one of the first to agree to leave the mountains, and after Shaded Moss' death on the journey, she took over as leader of the group. Tall Shadow made her camp on the moor and was distrustful of strangers, turning away those who wished to join. After Moon Shadow's death, she willingly stepped down from leadership, handing it to Gray Wing; however, she and Gray Wing later became co-leaders of the group.

Now, I really am exited for Riverstar’s Home. There is only ONE, (Bonus Scene, at that) telling of his origin (It’s in Thunder Rising). It tells of a park, with Twolegs in it. The Twolegs then tear down the park, and Riverstar (Ripple, at the time), flees and finds himself in a river. He finds a log in the river, and floats along it for a while. He ends up in the forest, where he meets Night, a RiverClan member, and introduces himself with a new name, River Ripple, in thanks to the river that took him there. With this life, I give you clarity and perspective. Even when you're swept up in emotion, be aware of the situation as it truly is. Prequel: Dawn of the Clans and its supplemental books take place long before the main series or any of the other prequels. Premature Birth Drama: Star Flower's kitting. In addition to coming at the worst possible time - as they're running form the villain - the kits are very early, which worries everyone. Clean Pretty Reliable: After going over the waterfall, Drizzle isn't breathing. Finch performs a feline version of CPR, pushing on her chest, and Drizzle is okay, just weak, after coughing up a little water.

Shoutbox

Riverstar's Home is the sixteenth Warriors Super Edition. It takes place during the Dawn of the Clans arc. Kate has expressed an interest in writing more about Riverstar, saying "there's something mysterious and secretive and he's a lovely character." [blog 1] Whether you’re a fan of derby racing, animal games or pet horses, your exciting horse simulation journey begins with Rival Stars Horse Racing. Near and Dear" Baby Naming: Arc Shadow is named after Riverstar's parental figure, Arc. It's also possible though not explicitly stated that Ripple Shine is named after Riverstar himself, since Finch had previously promised to name one after him.

Kate imagines Riverstar as pale gray with some mottling on his fur. However, she thinks Cherith may imagine him differently. [blog 2] Perspective Flip: The first half or so of the book is a retelling of Dawn of the Clans from River Ripple's POV, including some scenes where we'd seen the DOTC protagonists encountering him.

This book contains examples of the following:

Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Leopardpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Leopardfur. StarClan honors your determination, your independence, and your loyalty, and welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan. We also don't see any of how Park life was for the cats, since the book opens up with the park getting destroyed. I was really looking forward to learning more about that, but oh well I guess. We hear about the meditation but that's it, though I did like how that was a reoccurring ritual during the book. I know. I wish I could have raised you. But I've loved you even though I couldn't be with you. With this, your ninth life, I give you love. The love a mother gives her kits. Your Clanmates are your kits now. Their safety depends on your strength. You must fight for them without fear or pity.

This book was honestly a slog to get through and, in my opinion, rather boring. The vast majority of chapters felt less like exciting material to experience and more like obstacles to endure before the book got good—and even then, it didn't stay good. No One Could Survive That!: Slash falls into the river and disappears under the surface. Riverstar assumes the current dragged him to the bottom, and Arc comments that there's no way Slash will survive that. I really wanted to like this book. I really did. River Ripple was one of my favorite characters from the Dawn of the Clans series. But this one just didn’t deliver for me.Alliterative Name: Ripple's new name River Ripple, as well as some of the mountain cats like Turtle Tail. What was up with Hawk? He feels like such a loose end. Why did they just not use him again. Riverstar could've turned him nice as part of his character arc and a show of his leadership style.

And how are we going to brush past how Skystar almost murdered Arc in cold blood? He was a passing rogue who clearly knows nothing about the Clans or their boundaries. All he had to do was scare him off with some empty threats. Nearly fatally injuring him was so unnecessary. I thought Skystar had agreed to be less vicious in the end of DotC. But whatever.) Lost Stars • The Silent Thaw • Veil of Shadows • Darkness Within • The Place of No Stars • A Light in the Mist I also wonder why the authors chose to rehash certain events in Dawn of Clans and not others. But mostly I wish that they spent less time reviewing what we as readers already know. This insistence on seemingly random recaps results in frustrating inconsistencies: scenes where River Ripple should know about Turtle Tail's death—because he had been present when her body was found—but only mentions it casually, like someone who had heard about it secondhand; moments where he meets certain mountain cats before they were made aware of him in the main series; and narration that recontextualizes his actions in the main series and makes it less interesting (in my opinion). As Sunnyfall so neatly points out in her YouTube video about this super edition, once we're in River Ripple's head, he's another cat entirely. We learn that he is incapable of making his own decisions, and his defining character traits in the series are reduced to, "StarClan/Gray Wing/Night told me to do this." Clear Sky becomes mates with Star Flower after having previously fathered Thunder with another she-cat. (As we see in the other Dawn of the Clans books, Star Flower is actually his third love, after Bright Stream and then Thunder's mother Storm died.) River Ripple feels jealous that Clear Sky gets to start a second family when he never got to have kits with Flutter.Mistakes A compiled list of the errors present in Riverstar's Home can be found here.
