Rob seemed satisfied with that answer and said good night one last time. I opened the door and went inside to see mom and Shelley waiting for me.
After I finished my homework I sat down to watch television until it was time for bed. Mom sat down next to me and began to show me how to file my nails and keep them neat-looking. I spent the next two hours working on my hands and feet until mom was happy with the way they looked. Finally, I decided to take my shower and get ready for bed. After a couple of dances, one of his friends asked if I'd dance with him. I looked at Rob who smiled and said he wouldn't mind so out to the floor we went. This song was a pretty fast one so the guy never did get a chance to hold me but he seemed happy just to be seen dancing with me. I was amazed at the effect I was having on these guys. I saw them in school every day and they acted as if I was part of the building, something that's there but not important. Now all I had to do was smile and they went to pieces! If only there were some way to make them understand how badly I felt when they ignored me. I was having too much fun though to worry about the past. Tonight I was going to enjoy myself!
