The plot is also a little predictable in places, with situations and plot points that are easily resolved by a handy word from a friendly sprite or, to put it more precisely, a memory. However, that isn't to day I wasn't intrigued by the story and I found while I was reading this that I couldn't put it down, swept away in the lush settings and easy writing style. It was certainly an enjoyable time. If I am weak for wanting you, then let me embrace that weakness and make it my strength, and if you must haunt me, then let me haunt you in return." I loved how she navigated finding her footing in a new place and how she embraced all sides of herself. Her interactions with her parents were so touching and I felt for all them. I wished we also got more of them together and had more insight into them becoming a family. Ross creates a magical story with lyrical prose that draws the reader into the tale and its setting. Recommend this series to fans of Jeffe Kennedy, Susanna Clarke, and Terry Brooks.” — Library Journal Hamish’s entire lower leg was mottled purple and blue, similar to the appearance of a fresh bruise.
