About this deal

Point Blanc is the second book in the Alex Rider series, written by British author Anthony Horowitz. The book was released in the United Kingdom on September 3, 2001 and in North America on April 15, 2002, under the alternate title Point Blank. Which leads me to a problem I had with the description of Mrs Stellenbosch. I did not manage to picture what she looked like. Basically all I could see was this huge bodybuilder person with a high pitched voice, but I could NOT picture her wearing any of those evening dresses! I mean really, how would that even look on her... There's only so much my imagination can make up.. Filming of the third season began in Bristol during October 2022, with production expected to take place over six months in the United Kingdom and Croatia. [27] [28] In November 2022, production reportedly took place at Cardiff Bay Barrage. [29] Filming was also conducted in Gloucester in December 2022, with production reportedly due to finish in March 2023. [30] Location filming also took place in Malta. The book opens with the death of American electronics billionaire Michael J. Roscoe in an elevator shaft in his New York City office, arranged by a reputable contract killer known only as The Gentleman. In London, Alex Rider ends up in trouble with the police for causing a large amount of damage to a new conference centre while trying to expose a drug dealer operating at Brookland School.

Alex is described as being a strikingly good looking 15 year old boy, with fair hair (as said in Stormbreaker) or light brown hair (as said in Crocodile Tears and Scorpia Rising) and a handsome slender face that would “attract plenty of girls.” He also has serious brown eyes and a slightly hard, narrow mouth.

[4] [5] [6] On 10 November 2020, the series was officially renewed for a second season and will adapt the Alex Rider book Eagle Strike. [10] [11] As of 12 May 2021, a third season was in development. [12] In August 2022, the series was renewed for its third season, with production reportedly scheduled to begin in October 2022. [13] Casting [ edit ]Skeleton Key was published in 2002. After foiling a Triad plot to fix the 2001 Wimbledon tennis tournament and befriending Sabina, Alex is in grave danger of assassination. Forced to leave the country, MI6 sends him on a mission to Cuba with two doubtful CIA agents, of whom he is the sole survivor. He encounters former Soviet general Alexei Sarov, who tries to adopt Alex and expresses ideas of a nuclear holocaust and world domination under communist rule. Alex then foils his plans saving the world for a third time. The series neatly captures the essential qualities of the book, delivering up a sassy, sarcastic Alex determined to get to the bottom of his uncle’s death, and equally determined to escape the clutches of the repellent Dr Grief and his associate, the sinister Mrs Stellenbosch. This dramatisation is likely to bring a new generation of fans, both teenagers and adults, into a series that has stood the test of time exceptionally well. Reviewer Chris High said, "For first class spills, thrills, and adventure, Anthony Horowitz can be safely said to have cornered the modern market...influenced greatly by Ian Fleming's work." [2] Read Hot calls it a "must read for all teenagers". [3] The School Library Journal says, "Spy gadgets, chase scenes, mysteries, and a cliff-hanger ending will keep even reluctant readers interested in the second novel in this series." Booklist also says that Point Blanc is a great read for any reluctant teenager ready for a thrilling spy adventure. [4] Adaptation [ edit ] Ark Angel - Nikolei Drevin insisted that Alex joined him presumably to allow him to recover from his near-fatal "bicycle accident".
