Description

Their difference is also on the front side. Both sides of the front of HW-Q60B are angled while both sides of the front of the S65Q is elbow. Additionally, on the bar of the Q65Y, there are slightly indentations on the top and bottom side of the front while the HW-Q60B looks stiffer. Their dimension is also not much different. The length of the HW-Q60B is a bit longer, which is around 103 cm while the length of the LG S65Q is around 100 cm. While their depth and width is almost similar, only millimeters adrift. Sub-Woofer Design The Q60B’s picture hardware is driven by a Quantum Processor 4K lite system that seems to be more or less on a par with the Crystal processor found in Samsung’s non Quantum Dot TVs. Certainly, it doesn’t appear to have any of the machine learning/AI elements you get higher up Samsung’s TV range, with Samsung’s blurb on it only really talking about improved upscaling of sub-4K content and the ability to automatically adjust the sound profile to suit different content types.

Samsung soundbars tend to have a small screen that displays inputs and volume levels. If there are messages, the text needs to scroll to fully display. While some may prefer this interface over light indicators, others might be annoyed by the scrolling text. Based on our experiences, soundbars can support a variety of audio formats. However, the audio source greatly influences which audio format the soundbar will utilize. We've encountered four commonly used surround sound formats: Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, DTS, and DTS:X. The soundbar and audio source are the components that require support for these audio formats, so you don’t have to worry about your Samsung 65" Q60B TV supporting them. We've examined the differences between each format below: The Samsung Q600B’s soundbar controls are pretty much what we’d expect given the soundbar’s price. The soundbar has several buttons that Samsung has placed on top. These are four physical buttons for power, volume control and source selection. They may look cheaper than touchscreens, but are preferred in most cases as they are easier to find in a dimly lit room. All Samsung soundbars are very well-built and have a sleek look. You won't find any mesh fabric on them, and you'll be satisfied with their build quality made out of great solid plastic and metal grilles covering the speakers. Both of the LG S65Q and Samsung HW-Q60B have discrete center speaker, which is good for dialogue. The sound profile of their center speaker is also equally well balanced, making them can produce clear and accurate dialogue. Meanwhile. At max volume, the LG S65Q can get louder, which is around 91 dB SPL, while the HW-Q60B geta round 89 dB SPL. This actually is loud enough to fill a large room, even for the HW-60B. While the S65Q can get louder, the center speaker of the HW-Q60B have better distortion performance at both normal listening volume and max volume. However, although not as good as the HW-Q60B, distortion performance of the S65Q is also good. It can still produce clear and accurate dialogue in the mix.

Thank you for your reservation.

This soundbar is a good choice if you don't have space in your living room for satellite speakers. It comes without them, so it offers a slightly smaller footprint overall. Of course, without satellites, its surround sound performance isn't quite as impressive as what you get with the more premium Q990C. Sound effects are more concentrated to the front of your room rather than spreading out all around you for a more clear and real feel. Fortunately, you can always add satellites from the manufacturer separately, which is handy if you move to a bigger space down the line. On the other hand, with the support of eARC, the Samsung HW-Q60B can play high-quality audio content you will find more in the future. Although it doesn’t have heigh channel, but it still can play height sound by downmixing it to stereo.

While its content is impressive, we’re not fans of the way Samsung’s latest smart TV system is presented and organised. Moving to a full-screen interface from the previous generation’s superimposed rows of content along the bottom edge feels unnecessary, and the layout and navigation of the new smart interface both feel unhelpful and illogical at times. Experience suggests we’ll probably see a much-improved refinement of this new approach next year. Here’s hoping, anyway. When used for watching movies, performance of the Samsung HW-Q60B is also a bit better than the LG S65Q. As we have mentioned above, its more neutral sound profile makes dialogues in movies produced by HW-Q60B is a bit clearer and more accurate than S65Q. Additionally, both support Dolby Digital and DTS audio formats found on a lot of streaming platforms. So, despite that don’t have surround channel, but they can still play 5.1 audio format, though, they have to downmix it to stereo. However, the LG S65Q doesn’t support eARC, so it cannot reproduce high-quality audio like Dolby Atmos, etc. It cannot reproduce height sound, even just for downmixing it to stereo. Both of the Samsung HW-Q60B and LG S65Q have a simple design. They are made of the same materials, which is good-quality plastic. The difference is the material that cover it. The HW-Q60B have a solid metal grid that cover the front side of the bar. On the other hand, for the S65Q, the top and fronts of the bar are covered by high quality fabric. We updated the Stereo Soundstage score from 7.0 to 6.5. This is a subjective evaluation, and testing the next gen Samsung HW-Q60C gave us a better point of comparison. We also corrected an error in the bar's height in Dimensions - Bar. The Samsung HW-Q990C is the best Samsung soundbar we've tested. This premium 11.1.4 soundbar is the next generation of the Samsung HW-Q990B, and its sound quality is even better than its predecessor. Out-of-the-box, you enjoy a clear and clean sound suitable for listening to many different types of audio content, from music to movies to TV shows. The dedicated sub brings the rumble in the bass, and it's more controlled than last year's model, so voices and lead instruments are represented with balance alongside the bass.

Despite making a pleasing first impression with its design and some of the more aggressive aspects of its picture quality, in the end, Samsung’s attempt to make Quantum Dot technology more affordable doesn’t result in the budget hero we’d hoped for. Samsung soundbars offer a good, well-balanced, and neutral sound profile right out of the box, versatile for different uses. Thanks to their wireless subwoofer, some soundbars do have a bit of extra bass. Gamers will be enthused, though, both by the number of game streaming services available on Samsung’s dedicated Gaming Hub screen and by the TV’s seriously speedy 9.4ms of input lag when using the TV’s ‘Fastest’ response time setting. Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, DTS:X (eARC), Dolby TrueHD (eARC), DTS HD-MA (eARC), 5.1 PCM (eARC)
