About this deal

Scutellaria baicalensis, also known as Baikal or Chinese skullcap, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family. Skullcap root extract contains numerous bioactive compounds, such as the flavonoids baicalein, oroxylin A, and wogonin. These antioxidants help to combat free radical damage that can lead to premature signs of skin aging. Scutellaria baicalensis root extract is also a very potent tyrosinase inhibitor. Thus, skullcap root extract is another ingredient in Clinique All About Eyes that can help to brighten the eye area. Myopia (nearsightedness): You can’t see clearly at a distance. Your eye is “too long” for the lens, so light won’t focus properly on your retina. Versura, P; Profazio, V; Cellini, M; Torreggiani, A; Caramazza, R (1999). "Eye discomfort and air pollution". Ophthalmologica. 213 (2): 103–109. doi: 10.1159/000027401. PMID 9885386. S2CID 46791165. The size of the eye differs among adults by only one or 2 millimetres. The eyeball is generally less tall than it is wide. The sagittal vertical (height) of a human adult eye is approximately 23.7mm (0.93in), the transverse horizontal diameter (width) is 24.2mm (0.95in) and the axial anteroposterior size (depth) averages 22.0–24.8mm (0.87–0.98in) with no significant difference between sexes and age groups. [2] Strong correlation has been found between the transverse diameter and the width of the orbit (r = 0.88). [2] The typical adult eye has an anterior to posterior diameter of 24mm (0.94in), and a volume of 6 cubic centimetres (0.37cuin). [3] Diplopia (double vision): Seeing double can be caused by many serious conditions. It requires immediate medical attention.

Your eyes are the sensory organs that allow you to see. Your eyes capture visible light from the world around you and turn it into a form your brain uses to create your sense of vision. Your brain doesn’t have sensory abilities of its own. It needs your eyes (and other senses, like hearing and touch) to gather information about the world around you. This connects your retinas to your brain. It’s like the data cable that carries signals from your eyes, with connection points linking to multiple brain areas. PMID 7493821. Morus bombycis (mulberry) root extract is included in the Clinique All About Eyes formula because of its high concentrations of antioxidants. Antioxidants strengthen the skin’s defenses against environmental free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Mulberry root extract also provides skin lightening effects due to the presence of arbutin. Arbutin is a glycosylated hydroquinone that has the ability to inactivate tyrosinase. Tyrosinase is a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of melanin, the pigment that gives skin color. Therefore, by inhibiting tyrosinase, Mulberry root extract may be able to reduce abnormal pigmentation and brighten the eye area. Active19 Love it I’m delighted, it’s easily absorbed and doesn’t leave the skin round my eyes shiny. Trouble seeing clearly or properly: Blurred vision from refractive errors, or specific vision issues like night blindness or color blindness. The eyeball grows rapidly, increasing from about 16–17mm (0.63–0.67in) diameter at birth to 22.5–23mm (0.89–0.91in) by three years of age. By age 12, the eye attains its full size.Spring, K. At the low end of the range is the absolute threshold of vision for a steady light across a wide field of view, about 10 −6 cd/m 2 (0.000001 candela per square meter). [21] [22] The upper end of the range is given in terms of normal visual performance as 10 8 cd/m 2 (100,000,000 or one hundred million candelas per square meter). Disrupted vision: Double vision or visible auras (bright haze or splotches in your field of view) like from ocular migraines. The eyelid protects the front part of the eye. The lid helps keep the eye clean and moist by opening and shutting several times a minute. This is called blinking, and it's both a voluntary and involuntary action, meaning you can blink whenever you want to, but it also happens without you even thinking about it.
