About this deal

On days when I’m running late at night on the treadmill in my garage staring at a door, or days when I’m battling through wet and windy conditions, I sometimes question why I continue to push myself through my running. Those eight weeks when I couldn’t run reminded me just how much I love it. Starting from this special onwards, James has obtained a habit of declaring "Here's James!" whenever he appears in certain scenes, similar to the 1980 film, The Shining. This is the second special not dubbed in European Spanish, Romanian, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Hungarian, Serbian, Czech, Polish and Indonesian since Thomas and the Magic Railroad.

I also pushed forward with my mountaineering, spending some wonderful time in beautiful Snowdonia, Scotland and the Alps, with patient and thoughtful guides who are helping me build my confidence, learn new skills and come to terms with the tragedy that occurred on my mountain expedition in 2021. In the first scene of Edward shunting, there are two workmen standing at the signal box, but in the next shot, they have disappeared.Calling All Engines! | The Great Discovery | Cancelled 2009 Special | Hero of the Rails | Misty Island Rescue | Day of the Diesels | Blue Mountain Mystery | King of the Railway | Tale of the Brave | The Adventure Begins | Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure | The Great Race | Journey Beyond Sodor | Big World! Big Adventures! The journey to Tokyo 2023 has been an absolute joy (although at mile 16 of every marathon, I can guarantee you I wasn’t thinking that!). I really can’t wait for the race! When I think about crossing the start line, running the race in front of the Japanese supporters, for whom marathon running is a key national sport, and (hopefully) crossing the finish line, I get quite emotional. I am usually crying when I cross the finish line of any marathon and I suspect this will be no different! Gordon Takes a Tumble | Henry and the Elephant | Percy Takes a Plunge | Thomas and the Special Letter | James and the Trouble with Trees | Spic and Span | Diesel from Thomas to the Rescue | Emily's Adventure

During the scene where Thomas has trouble waking up, the smoke from Henry's funnel goes through the shed. My six star journey started in 2010 when I decided to run to keep me physically and mentally fit to help me cope with a career that I absolutely love but one which is busy and can be stressful at times. In 2011, the first leg of the six star journey was in London where I ran my first marathon. The final leg of the six star journey has taken almost four years, from an early morning in July 2019 when I, and several friends, got up at 2am so that we could log on and try and get places for the Tokyo marathon (where the first come, first served charity application system opened at 10am Japanese time!). I was so grateful that we all managed to get our places and would never have thought that it would be almost four years later that we would finally run the race! But, everything looks to be covid secure, the marathon is open to overseas runners for the first time since 2019 and I feel so privileged to be going. The first time the runaway theme has been heard since the sixth series in the US and the seventh series in the UK. A few days later, Thomas and Edward are in the yard when they see a red engine approaching. It is James in his new bright red paintwork and with new proper brakes. James asks Edward to fetch his coaches, but Annie and Clarabel tell him that they belong to Thomas now. He collects them and sets off on his way, but not forgetting to wake up Gordon first. When Thomas leaves the coaches behind, in the very last frame of Thomas leaving Knapford, Edward's front bogie disappears. The airing of this special on PBS Kids marks the last time to show The Railway Series second book's foreword, which had been seen in the eighth to thirteenth series PBS Kids airings. This special was shown at The Theater at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA on Tuesday May 12, 2015, the same day of The Railway Series' 70th anniversary. It was also shown on PBS Kids on May 11. The PBS airings included two Mr. Perkins segments and The Best Friends Express music video at the end to fill the time slot. The first television series production since the fourth series episode, Mind that Bike to directly adapt Railway Series stories, the first to adapt any Railway Series story written by creator Wilbert Awdry since the fourth series episode, Paint Pots and Queens, and the first complete Railway Series adaptation in the CGI Series. This is also the second special to celebrate the franchise's anniversary, the first being Calling All Engines! for the 60 anniversary in 2005. Unlike Calling All Engines!, this special pertains directly to the anniversary of The Railway Series.

Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.” – T.S. Eliot Short adventure quotes: Final thoughtsWhen Thomas goes under the signal box after forgetting the coaches, he whistles and his whistle bounces up and down, exactly the same as to how Nitrogen Studios animated his whistle in the thirteenth-sixteenth series. This is the first and only time Arc has animated it in this manner until the twenty-fourth series episode, Emily to the Rescue. Several recomposed pieces of music from the Clearwater Features era are featured. Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell receive credit for "original songs and themes." Peter Hartshorne did research on YouTube for inspiration to recompose the pieces. The only special based on stories from The Railway Series, as well as the only television series story based on two books. When Thomas passes Gordon at Knapford at the end of the special, a goods train is seen derailed at the platform. Through the next 10 years, I have pushed myself to firstly break the five hour barrier, which I did on a cool, overcast day in London in 2015 with such excitement, then to break the 4 hr 30 min barrier, which I did on an incredibly hot day in Chicago in 2017 and then to break the 4 hr barrier which I did in a socially distanced marathon at Dorney Lake in 2021. I’ve learnt about how to train, how to fuel and how to get stronger. I’ve also learnt that by pushing yourself, you can achieve so much more than you ever believe you are capable of.

Thomas spends all day working on his own, but it is hard work and he continues causing problems. Late in the afternoon, James pulls in with Annie and Clarabel and screeches to a stop next to Thomas, who notices a smoky smell. It is coming from James' wooden brakes, but James pretends not to notice. Thomas sees Henry taking on water and asks him why he is afraid of rain, explaining how it is only water, just like he puts in his boiler and that he should not spend all day worrying. Henry claims that he is usually very happy, when it is sunny. The first special not to have Steven Kynman, Bob Golding, David Menkin, Mike Grady, Jonathan Broadbent, Olivia Colman, Joe Mills, Robert Wilfort, Tom Stourton and Maggie Ollerenshaw as part of the voice cast since they joined the cast in Blue Mountain Mystery, King of the Railway, the seventeenth series, Tale of the Brave and the eighteenth series. So many people have kindly asked me about my ‘special medal’ and it has been a long time coming! If you had told me even 15 years ago, that I’d be aiming for this, I would have looked at you very oddly! I didn’t enjoy doing sporting activities. I certainly didn’t run! I remember watching my wonderful Mum running the London marathon at the age of 50 and being so very proud of her but knowing I would never be able to do the same. from an adventure perspective, was challenging. Having gone ten years without any real injuries, my body clearly decided that I needed to rest! A skiing accident meant that my preparations for the iconic Boston marathon had to be significantly curtailed. A later injury then meant that I couldn’t run my planned ultra marathon and, in fact, couldn’t run for 8 weeks. Sodor Steamworks appears, despite it not being introduced in Thomas & Friends until Hero of the Rails. My first adventure of 2023 is the Tokyo marathon in March. I feel incredibly blessed to be heading to such a beautiful and fascinating country. I am also very excited about the opportunity to run for my six star medal. This is the medal that a runner who has been privileged enough to run the six major marathons of the world receives. Just over 8,000 people globally have been awarded this medal, only 2,400 women and only 770 from the UK.
