Build Quality– You are at the bottom end of the market here and as a result you get A LOT of plastic. That’s right, it is nearly all made of plastic which is not the strongest material but then again plastic does mean the mower stays lightweight and very affordable. Durability could be an issue if you don’t look after your lawn mowers particularly well. The only possible downside for some users was the fact that it took them a while to assemble it, but once everything was finished they were very pleased with the end result and the effectiveness of the product. The Rotak 32 lawnmower is quite powerful and user-friendly and is ideal for small and medium sized gardens of up to 150m². As mentioned above this Bosch has combs on either side that guide the grass into the path of the blades, meaning you really are getting the full 32cm cutting diameter. These combs reduce the amount of trimming around the edges when the mowing is done. Like many cordless lawn mowers, the Bosch Rotak 32 LI is powered by a Lithium-ion battery (36V) and electrical motor which will charge in around 90-100 minutes. The battery is removed from the mower for charging and storage.

Like a stripey lawn? Well the Bosch Rotak 32 LI does come with an Integrated Rear Roller for a lovely stripey lawn. With this mower you’re getting features normally found in high priced mowers, so this is very reasonably priced. It should take you no longer than about 10 minutes to take this out of the box and then put it together. The charge to mow time ratio is really very good for a cordless mower at this price point. Ideally you will choose a mower that has enough run time to mow your entire lawn or lawns, but this mower allows you to have a tea break, recharge the battery in 45min and then continue. If your lawn is less than 300m² then this is not going to be an issue or a feature you will use, but with a 45 min charge time (to 80%) this mower is still an option for larger lawns. Motor– This mower is not built like a powerhouse – but the motor you get is still absolutely top notch. I was pleasantly surprised at how powerful this thing was. Grass Box– The grass box does seem a little flimsy to be honest with you, but hey, it does the job. The capacity is only 31 litres but the mower is only designed for small lawns so that’s why you get a small capacity box.

I did a test on a similar powered Worx mower and took it over my local park to see just how good it is on more demanding grass. I did surprisingly well, however it was dry. You will notice that I am tilting the mower up on the first pass and gradually reducing the height, this gave me around 15-20 minutes of run time. Top Tip: You get a 2 year warranty with your new mower as standard, but you can upgrade that to 3 years for free if you register it with Bosch after purchasing. As I mentioned before, the Rotak 32 is perfect for small and mid-sized gardens and its compact design allows you to cut your grass with precision, providing you with impeccable results and a nice-looking lawn.

The tool is equipped with special grass combs that allow you to cut close to the edges and safely get around walls, pathways and flowerbeds for a tidy finish. Now, 90 minutes is in itself very respectable when you compare it to the almost 2 hours charge time for its rival the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300. What I really like about the Bosch Rotak 32 LI is the addition of a removable safety key that disables the lawn mower to help prevent accidental starting. This is a nice feature, not always found on similar cordless mowers, that provides peace of mind around children. The grass box on the Bosch Rotak 32 LI is very well engineered and is extremely easy to remove, the grass clippings empty from the box with no obstructions.The Bosch handle design is ergonomically shaped, adjustable and multi-functional allowing for a better body posture and reduced muscle strain. Bosch named this their new “Ergoflex System” and it really does assist in making mowing the lawn that bit easier.
