Ironically, it was the Red Night Goblin who was laughing. Mort: King Julien's self-proclaimed best friend, Mort is the oldest lemur in the kingdom, despite his childish appearance. He is a big fan of King Julien and is in love with the king's feet, after his feet saved Mort's life in King Me. According to Mort, he spends most of his time in his own world and barely notices his surroundings. He is also known for being creepy, and he always talks to the multiple versions of himself inside his mind. The primary example of this is Smart Mort, an extremely intelligent version of Mort who lives in Mort’s head. He reveals himself when Mort drinks coffee. It is also revealed that Mort can absorb different versions of him. He also absorbed his own grandma. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted -- Maurice smiles when he thinks King Julien fell to his "death", only to find out he survived much to his dismay. However, Mort is upset. Mort (perhaps the most loyal after the scene in King Me) and Maurice are very loyal. Even though Maurice is a extremely loyal to King Julien in All Hail King Julien, who is to be one of his best friend, these are some examples where Maurice's character change:The Wrath of Morticus Khan(November 11, 2016) - King Julien clones himself but things take a turn for the worse when Morticus Khan, an evil warlord, unleashes an army of Mort clones on the kingdom. But the shark had followed him, as a result, the shark end up inside the volcano. At the end, King Julien, Maurice and Mort are seen, riding a flamingo. Mort Unbound -- Mort growing huge by an invention and being tired of being bullied and bossed around, but then letting Julien use him to get stuff from the other zoo animals. King Julien refusing to give Mort a single banana. When Mort was turned small, King Julien admitted it was his fault to prevent big Private from beating him up. While this is true, most commonly episodes follow the pattern: Julien has a desire to either benefit himself or to improve the lives of his people. Despite his entourage’s objections he proceeds with the plan. The plan works at first but then takes a disastrous turn. At first, Julien expects Maurice and Clover or another person to fix his mess. This doesn’t work and so Julien is forced to reconcile with his own guilt and attempts, sometimes pathetically, to rectify things. He then claims he learned a valuable lesson. Maurice sighs exhaustedly. He does actually learn a few lessons in Exiled and reveals his gratitude to his companions on a few occasions. In an interview with Tom McGrath, he stated that King Julien had several loyal citizens, most predominant of which was a Lemur named Troy. Mort meets King Julien and Maurice for the first time when he falls out of a tree in “King Me”. Mort is depicted as an important character in All Hail King Julien, and is one of the four members of King Julien's royal circle, along with Maurice and Clover. It is in All Hail King Julien that his love towards King Julien's feet began. Mort is somewhat creepy at times, but also humorous. He claims to live in his own world, and can turn into many versions of himself inside his mind.

Upon arriving in Africa, Julien at first believes they are in New York, and makes himself a new crown, declaring himself king (although nobody pays much attention). He and Maurice have as much fun as possible. When they see Melman feeling depressed about losing Gloria to Moto Moto, they encourage him to go tell Gloria how he truly feels. In the first Madagascar game, however, he seemed to be intelligent like King Julien. Though in the second one, he seemed to be less intelligent than his usual character. King Julien XII was able to rally and unite much of the kingdom and neighboring kingdoms War of the Beasts. Xixi: The kingdom's reporter who usually focuses mostly on gossip. She is a trustworthy toucan in the news who informs the lemur kingdom on current events. She covers a lot of major events including King Julien's coronation, and King Julien and Crimson's royal wedding. In All Hail King Julien, he is excellent in bringing up fabulous songs, on a specific topic. For example, such songs are; Willie: If the kingdom panics, it is usually because of Willie. Willie is a scared, timid, and exciting lemur who later in the series shows more of his bravery and confidence. He was the captain of the kingdom's first navy ship, Old Porcelainsides (later renamed the S.S. Pee Pee Pants).
