THE PERSON I THINK DOESN'T GET ENOUGH CREDIT FOR THEIR ACTIVISM"Something that gets lost sometimes is that activism can take many forms. I’m always blown away by stories like the one in our recent documentary A Secret Love, a story about two women living out their lives with dignity and honesty." LGBTQ STORY I'D LOVE TO SEE ONSCREEN"Less weepy queers, more intrepid queers! Nothing wrong with being weepy, I'd just like to see a wider gamut."

Tilly: That was my dress. Those are my earrings. That's my watch. I wore pretty much all my own clothes…After the movie, I gave some of the clothes to my sister. The dress, in the last scene, she shows up wearing it [one time] and I'm like, "You know how many lesbians would love to get their hands on that dress. That's an artifact! It should be in a museum!" She's like, "It's my favorite dress!"

I FIRST FELT REPRESENTED WHEN I SAW"Pinocchio saying he wanted to be a 'real boy'! There's something about the journey of a non-human other that will always speak to me — first as a young queer, then as an immigrant."

BERK"Taylor Swift. To watch some of our community come after her for speaking up in support of equal rights was very sad and frustrating to me." Gershon: I knew I had to curl [my toes] on cue. I think it could have been a little bit more connected to an orgasm or to a sexual feeling. I felt it was more a mechanical thing. [But] it was very fluid. No pun intended. Broadcast TV's first openly gay chief exec has used his new post atop WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer business to shine a spotlight. For newly launched streamer HBO Max, Greenblatt is teaming with Greg Berlanti and Jim Parsons for the docuseries Equal, ball culture competition series Legendary and scripted dramedy Generation, a modern look at sexuality. Historically, women had indeed counted on their charms in practicing espionage, mostly because charms were often the only kind of weapon permitted them. During the American Civil War, when a group of elite hostesses relied on their social connections to gather intelligence for both sides, Harriet Tubman was an outlier who actually ran spying efforts. But the aggression, vision, and executive capacity required to direct an operation were not considered within the female repertoire. With a GLAAD Media Award for outstanding comedy series and a Rising Star nod from the Outfest Legacy Awards, Saracho has been praised for creating opportunities for Latinx and LGBTQ voices and for showcasing them on camera on the Starz series Vida. Are women useful as spies? If so, in what capacity? Maxwell Knight, an officer in MI5, Britain’s domestic-counterintelligence agency, sat pondering these questions. Outside his office, World War II had begun, and Europe’s baptism by blitzkrieg was under way. In England—as in the world—the intelligence community was still an all-male domain, and a clubby, upper-crust one at that. But a lady spy could come in handy, as Knight was about to opine. Gershon: There was one take that all four of us were like, "That's the one." It was like a real love scene. You didn't see a boob. You didn't see anything; it was all suggested. It really played on our face more than anything. Gershon: Look at your body. Honestly, whenever I wasn't sure of what I was doing I would just stare at your chest.

This fall we have more queer women characters than ever before with more representation of women of color in pivotal roles and characters that identify as lesbian, bisexual and pansexual. From network to cable to streaming, show runners, writers and producers are finding more ways to be inclusive of LGBTQ women as part of their expansive casts and, in some cases, giving them starring roles. Here are 21 shows—new and returning—that are giving gay and bi women some screen time this fall. 1. Easy Kiersey Clemons and Jacqueline Toboni in Netflix series "Easy." Zac Hahn / Netflix

Having fought to put the first same-sex kiss between two men on network TV ( Dawson's Creek), the megaproducer continues to represent the community in the many shows (he's juggling 19) he has across six platforms. His directorial work on Love, Simonmarked the first major studio movie to center on a gay teen romance. Gershon: Susie Bright, she was supposed to take me around. The Wachowskis thought it was important that I meet her. She was an authority figure, and [a writer] in the lesbian community. I was really excited to talk to her. I'LL FEEL GOOD ABOUT HOLLYWOOD'S LGBTQ REPRESENTATION WHEN"Every network has at least one series on air created by an LGBTQ person, centering an LGBTQ lead, played by LGBTQ talent."

The Australian comedian, writer and actor has garnered praise for his unabashed depictions of LGBTQ characters in his shows: breakout series Please Like Meand, most recently, Freeform comedy Everything's Gonna Be Okay. The creator has fought to authentically portray everything from messy coming out stories to anal sex. Tilly: Once they got the two of us in the room, I thought, "This is a girl that I can really see being in a relationship with." I FIRST FELT REPRESENTED WHEN I SAW"As someone who identifies as nonbinary, I’m realizing I don’t think I ever felt represented as a kid — especially because I thought of myself as cis and female at the time. TV mostly made me feel like I wasn’t enough and reinforced a more awful, awkward prism of how women are valued for beauty over most anything else."

Laverne Cox

I FIRST FELT REPRESENTED WHEN I SAW"Truthfully, being someone who identifies as bisexual and is also of South Asian descent, I haven't really seen much on television that I feel represents me."
