About this deal

If you got carried away with shaving and are experiencing razor burn, here are some ingredients to look for in an aftershave. Rinse your razor frequently: To prevent buildup of hair and shaving cream on your razor, make sure you’re rinsing it between passes. Having product buildup on your razor will keep you from getting the closest shave possible, as the surface will be uneven. Also, the presence of excess product will make you more susceptible to missing certain areas on your face. Influenced by Giorgio Armani’s personal memories and an exploration of nature and culture, the Armani Prive line translates the essence of the designer’s haute couture collections into unique fine fragrances. The latest addition to the collection, Santal Dan Sha, conjures up a refreshing, gentle summertime breeze at dusk and is inspired by the aromatic woody trees and serene lakes of east Asia. Created by master perfumer, Fabrice Pellegrin, it is an enveloping and noble scent made from precious and finely crafted ingredients. Opening with a burst of sparkling Calabrian bergamot fruit, violet leaf accord and warm peppery cardamom heart from Guatemala, the majestic scent develops into a sensual blend of resinous elemi, musks and incense extract. It is however the balmy and creamy sandalwood from New Caledonia, paired with Virgina cedrawood and Dreamwood (a high-tech synthetic note) in its base, that gives this fragrance its defining and lingering signature. There are a ton of aftershaves out there, but generally speaking, you should look for products that are alcohol-free (alcohol is what creates that Home Alone-style burn upon application) and contain soothing ingredients. If you like a cooling sensation in your aftershave, look for ingredients like menthol and mint extracts. If you struggle with ingrown hairs and razor bumps, go for an aftershave that specifically targets those issues like versions with tea tree oil. However, when exposed to only small quantities, it was looked on with more appreciation. In fact, many women still seem to have quite a soft spot for it. Additionally, it’s still very appealing to young men as their first fragrance.

Armani’s Acqua di Gio (launched in 1996) defined a generation by being one of the first and subsequently one of the most successful aquatic masculine fragrances. This new interpretation, in an intensified eau de parfum concentration, shows the Italian designer’s commitment to sustainability; eco-conceived, refillable and composed of consciously-sourced ingredients. Aromatic and luminous, it ingeniously captures the original fragrance’s marine signature with a new molecule that allows its freshness to last infinitely. Master perfumer, Alberto Morillas, who has shaped all of the Acqua di Gio fragrances chose natural and sustainably-sourced sparkling green mandarin from Calabria, radiant and reminiscent of the designer’s Mediterranean roots, to open the crystalline scent. Clary sage heart from Provence (aromatic, warm and mineral), lavender and geranium bourbon heart from Madagascar, give it a masculine-floral facet. Patchouli Guatemala essence, with woody, balsamic and earthy qualities, cedarwood Atlas essence, vetiver heart (sustainably sourced in Haiti) complete this brave and evocative edp. Aloe vera: By far, aloe vera is the best instant skin soother and works to cool the skin after a shave. It also features antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties that help prevent burns, bumps and scrapes. Many lotion and balm formulas use aloe vera to ease any symptoms of razor burn, so finding a formula should be easy. Officina profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, with more than 800 years of history under its belt, is one of the oldest perfumery-businesses still operating today. Its latest collection of fragrances, I Giardini Medicei, pays tribute to the olfactory gardens of the Medici dynasty and rediscovers the Florentine brand’s botanical roots. Composed by Gian Luca Perris, Officina’s maître perfumer, our favourite from the collection of four perfumes is Bizzarria; described as an ode to singularity. Intriguing from the offset, it is inspired by gardens at the Villa Medicea di Castello, where in the 16th century the Medici family started to cultivate citrus fruits and were amongst the earliest to grow lemons, oranges and bergamot. The scent opens with a big, bold ‘Bizzarria’ accord of bitter orange, lemon and etrog (a citrus fruit rarely used in perfumery), seasoned with timur pepper and the unmistakable sweetness of neroli. Heart notes of orange blossom absolute, davana and ginger add to its spirited character before taking its foot off the pedal on a base of cedar-wood and musk. However, it’s certainly still wearable during the spring when the weather is still a little fresh. However, it may become too heavy for the summer. That said, it might be a fair choice for late summer nights spent clubbing on the coast. The overall sensation creates a tantalising sweet and savoury polarity before drawing us to the base. Base NotesAll Tom Ford creations share something in common: they have a characteristic confidence, a luxe appeal and the inherent ability to unleash the provocative. Cherry Smoke, a new addition to the designer’s top-tier Private Blend collection, is a spin-off from the successful Lost Cherry fragrance, launched in 2018. A more masculine take on the original amber/floral scent, it intriguingly balances bitter with sweet and lends itself more to evening wear. Opening with a dark sour cherry flavour, enhanced with exotic saffron notes, you are immediately transported to somewhere ‘forbidden’. The heart develops through a bouquet of fragrant and velvety Chinese osmanthus white flowers, supported with facets of apricot, olive and leather. A precious smoked wood accord anchors the base, accented with earthy and spicy cypriol oil. As with all TF productions, the perfumer for this tantalising EDP is undisclosed, adding to its mysterious and simmering persona. Le Labo — the NYC-based artisanal perfume house founded by Fabrice Penot and Edouard Roschi — has carved out a niche and earned a loyal following with its luxurious and unconventional hand-blended scents. Thé Matcha 26 is the first new addition to the brand’s Classic Collection of fine fragrances for quite some time; an ode to Japan, composed of 26 raw ingredients.

Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil is commonly used in skincare formulas due to its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory properties. A centuries-old ingredient that’s used to treat all kinds of wounds and burns, tea tree oil in an aftershave can help clean the skin and prevent razor burn from forming.

Rinse with warm water: Use warm water (versus cold or scalding hot) to splash your skin, as this will help open up your pores and make for a better shave. Water that’s too cold will close your pores, while water that’s too hot could cause irritation and inflammation. Paco Rabanne 1 Million Eau de Toilette Spray. This is a sure-fire winner and girls love this scent. They will surely be asking what you are wearing.

Being worn so commonly, it may have lost its original appeal and even be considered as overwhelming. There were some that also noted that it came across as overly synthetic and found the sweetness cloying. Coconut oil: Powered by its emollient-rich properties, coconut oil is an excellent skin hydrator—and perfect for lathering onto your skin after a sloppy shave that has resulted in razor burn. Some studies have shown it also has anti-inflammatory properties. Surprisingly, 1 Million is still quite pricey despite its overwhelming popularity. You’d expect its value to drop due to its popularity but the demand must be enough to keep it high. Versace The Dreamer For Him Eau de Toilette. This is specially designed for men who are romantic. It has a scene that is fit for macho men who are sweet. Paco Rabanne Invictus Eau de Toilette. This aftershave comes in a flashy bottle. It will definitely disappoint you with its easy and fruity scent. Finally, we’re lead to a seductive base that reveals a leather accord created by labdanum and resinous agarwood notes. The earthy, spicy labdanum also interacts with a patchouli note, which creates an oily, intoxicating finish. 1 Million’s lifecycle
