The biggest complaint is that this type of gadget is not able to cut the can or it takes going around the can with the opener 2-3 times to complete the task. GREAT GIFT – This could be a great gift to anybody, especially for left-handed users, and an ideal gift for the elderly, disabled or anyone suffering with RSI or Arthritis. If the Can Opener is jammed due to low battery level or a deformed can rim, press the small button at the rear of the Can Opener to activate the reverse button so that the can is released, keep the reverse button depressed until the Can Opener stops. My only concern is that this unit cuts through the body of the can, just UNDER the rolled seam. I was hoping this unit would be the sort that cuts INTO the seam, creating a re-usable lid and leavbing rolled metal on both the can and lid. Alas, not to be. Though the resulting can rim is smooth and dull, not something you'll cut yourself on easily, it isn't the greatest of methods. No danger as far as my tests showed, but still a *slight* let-down from optimum expectations. Opens most common domestic cans well with size up to 90mm diameter cylindrical and is Powered by two AA alkaline batteries (not included).
