About this deal

Nothing like a little obsession to put some pep in a girls step (when it’s wanted of course). Then again it’s really the least she deserves after putting her life on the line for a handsome stranger. While struggling to get by heroine Ayla realizes that day two years ago still haunts her in the form of three dangerous men who just keep turning up. Ayla is very very brave though I would argue at times she’s a bit dumb too. She doesn’t think everything through but I think a lot of that has to do with her being unaware until the end what kind of world she’s now been dragged into. Here’s the thing, I’ve read well over 200 books this year, not all of them were great, but I was HIGHLY anticipating the final book of this series for SO long and it fell ridiculously flat for me. I also really appreciated the way Ayla's relationship with Theo and Ryland was especially developed in this book so that I could actually understand why she liked these guys. Even if the guys aren't together within the reverse harem, I still like it to be clear that they like each other and it's super clear that Marcus, Theo, and Ryland all have a really deep bond. I appreciated how much emotion the guys showed. I think sometimes authors of darker, bad-boy romances shy away from that but I think a show of emotion that isn't anger in front of the heroine is a great way to show trust and that the relationship is deepening. Right away from the blurb, I just knew that Sweet Obsession was going to be something special. Something different. And now after reading it, I can tell you that I wasn’t wrong in the least. It is absolutely Callie Rose at her finest and hands down, my favorite book of hers to date.

o romance foi completamente deixado de lado para focar na parte do jogo/ da guerra que eu comentei na primeira review (aquela parte de jogos vorazes). agora a ayla faz parte da guerra, porque saiu querendo matar o povo lá. ô mulher burra.to conclude, ryland. nothing to say about him. joking. he was the less developed but i can already say he will be the one i will less care. he is that rude type of reverse harem guy that clearly doesn't know how to deal with his feelings so shows hate to the main character. (i kinda hate that) Growing up, Callie Rose always wanted to become an author and this always makes her grateful that she is living her dream. Writing is something that she always loved to do and when she was in school, she would take any opportunity to take an assignment or project into a story. The twenty six year old author wrote “Savage Royals” her debut novel and first of the “Boys of Oak Park Prep” series in 2019. Since then, she has become a prolific author with more than twenty three novels across more than seven series. Once she graduated from college, she became more serious with her writing even though it would take several years before she decided to take a stab at publishing. She is now glad that she took the plunge since becoming an author changed her life as it has become more than a hobby. Callie Rose’s third novel of the “Kings of Linwood Academy” series of novels “The Risk” is a fun read that wraps up the story that started in the debut as Iris’s murderer is uncovered. Harlow and her friends have worked hard and finally managed to expose the killer.

The second book does end with a cliffhanger, be warned! Hard to believe the next book will be the last. There's something rotten in Halston: there's a lot of twists and conflict going on in Sweet Retribution, and I can't wait to see if any of my predictions will come true or not. Umm, I seriously hope Marcus and Ayla aren't related. 😲 As in, hopefully Marcus doesn't turn out to be Ayla's missing brother. I mean, it seems unlikely, since Ayla's brother is supposedly younger than her, and Marcus is obviously older than her (and also the fact that Marcus's sister already died when she was just a young girl), but there's that certain passage (or two) that worries me and makes me think too much into it. LOL.men watch from the shadows. Watch her every move. One obsessed, one falling and one fighting for control - Marcus, Theo and Ryland. They watch. They wait. Finally they have to step out of the darkness and face the light. Face her. Ayla. The one who is so embedded in their heart and minds. The only thing with this book was that it was more plot oriented than the first one. I personally am not a big fan of plot and prefer character and relationship development. While this book did have that, the driving force was the plot. There was nothing wrong with it and I actually was intrigued by what was happening, but I ultimately did enjoy this a slight bit less than first one. It’s not because the book was bad or anything, it’s just personal preference. But oh wait apparently all the guys are ok with them all being in love with her and she ends up loving all of them at the same time. I really love reading about female side characters who have some sort of personality other than being a best friend or a jealous ex.

Honestly, TikTok made me do it. I am glad it did because this was so good. I finished it in a day. It's everything I ever wanted in a reverse harem, obsession, stalking romance. Ayla is with Marcus all of book one and kissed Theo to make him jealous and leave her alone. Didn’t work out but she ended up liking kissing Theo and Theo liked it too. Ayla was raised in the foster care system and was raped by her foster father at the age of 15. This isn't really discussed in detail, but we know she tried to take her own life after that. Also, she may or may not have a younger brother. Ayla was 17 when she lost part of her right arm when she jumps in front of bullets meant for a stranger (at the time) named Marcus. Callie Rose’s novel “The Lie” is an enjoyable novel that follows on from the events of the first novel of the “Kings of Linwood Academy” series of novels. Callie Rose is definitely one of my favorite RH authors. I love her writing style as it's always polished and so smooth to read. She does a great job of creating a solid and interesting plot, but also blends the relationship building aspect between the characters throughout the story without it just being about sex. There's a decent amount of steam, but you know it's more about love than just lust. I really appreciate that.
