About this deal
Kayanya abis baca cerita tentang Hydn, saya jadi ngefans deh. Karena dia itu gurunya dua komposer hebat : Mozart dan Beethoven.
Koscielniak is an author, illustrator, and musician. This book provides the historical development of modern orchestras emphasizing how they changed in size and scope with the introduction of new instruments. For instance, the story begins pre-1600 when there were no orchestras, only small groups of musicians who played string or pipe instruments. Yet, the story develops through modern day where we have large groups of musicians who play woodwind, brass, string, and percussion instruments as well as taking advantage of computer synthesizers. Koscielniak describes how each major evolution in the orchestra resulted from the introduction of a new instrument or the profound genius of a historical composer. Our first BBC radio broadcast from Southwark Cathedral is conducted by Vaughan Williams (his own ‘Pastoral’ Symphony). The book includes quotations about music from famous people or the composers and musicians themselves. This builds our sense of a community of music appreciators, and helps us see the importance of learning about classical music. Through the selections on the CD we’ve found music we wanted to listen to in its entirety, like Carnival of the Animals. We celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Barbican, where the LSO is Resident Orchestra, with pre-concert foyer performances by the LSO East London Academy, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and the LSO Percussion Ensemble, and LSO Create, followed by Joseph Haydn’s The Creation in the Barbican Hall. We record Concerto! with Michael Tilson Thomas – a major TV series made for Channel 4 with Dudley Moore, which wins an Emmy Award. I am sure and the opportunity to play some of the compositions from the series is very welcome too and we’re really excited for this release in 2022 – it’s been released!! I spotted that Story Orchestra I Can Play is Volume 1– does this mean more in the play your own series will follow?! Home Learning – Music

We actually read Part II: Instruments first. Students learn about the organization (where everyone sits) and instruments of the orchestra. Each chapter features an introduction into the featured section, followed by explanation of each individual instrument. Chapters include: Strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and keyboard. Photographs well illustrate what the instruments look like, but the drawings are inconsistent. While they give visuals for interesting facts, they fail to who how all the instruments are played and we had to fill in from the internet.
